Sandusky (left, in a 1999 photo) is charged with sexual abuse of eight boys
Could it be that on some deep and horrible psychological level, it was precisely the fact of Joe Paternos moral authorityand God, did he have it, not only as much as anyone in college football, but as much as any prominent person in America in any fieldthat enabled this revolting daisy chain of denial to exist at Penn State? Because, after all, he was a great man. A great moral man. Great moral men dont hire depraved monsters. Great moral men dont let things like this happen in their orbit. Great moral men take care of these things. But he didnt. This kind of thing could have happened at any university. But it could have happened the exact way it did only at Penn State, where everyone, from that cowed janitor to the president, takes his cues from Coach.
Let us first be blunt about the facts at hand, because some media outlets resort to the kind of euphemism that appallingly softens the blow of what Jerry Sandusky is alleged to have done to Victim 2, as he is called in the grand-jury report Forgive my language, but here at the Beast we are permitted these very occasional lapses, so let me say it plainly, the better to ensure that we all understand just how shocking and sickening this is: On the evening of March 1, 2002, Sandusky, it is alleged, was raping a 10-year-old boy in his anus. A 10-year-old boy. In the very showers used by the Nittany Lions players.

[ his son is his lawyer... ]
Maybe his son is a butt wrangler as well...
Evil can be cyclic.. Dis-function can propagate itself..
Sodomy is a moral disease..
“Why did Joe allow that?”
Very good question...and I do not believe JoPa is squeaky-clean. He will be gone as coach. Only question now is when. It is also likely that this will fog his career and severely tarnish his ‘image’.
lol- funny how quickly people jump to conclusions...ever hear of due process???
Yep. We saw how well due process worked for the victim in 1998. Sandusky got the royal retirement treatment. We saw how well due process worked for Victim #2 in 2002. McQueary got a job as an assistant coach ...
I am mad and very outraged!!!!
I am mad and very outraged!!!!
so why aren’t you screaming at the PA authorities??? why wasn’t Sandusky branded as a predator back then???
Apparently you have not read my previous posts.
no interest- you obviously have an agenda....
Spoken like a person that has no position.
i have a position- i’d rather wait and find out all the facts and what exactly was told to whom before i start rushing to knee jerk conclusions unlike yourself...
further, since you seem to know so much, tell us exactly what mcqueary told Paterno he saw, which was communicated to the Grand Jury.....then tell us exactly the history of PSU coaches/grad assistants through up the chain of command since you seem to be inferring mcqueary received his position based on his silence or something to that matter...
thanks in advance...
We don't know. That one piece of the puzzle is conspicuously absent from the Grand Jury presentment and the Grand Jury findings.
We know Joe Paterno says he was told "fondling" and "maybe something of a sexual nature" that made McQueary uncomfortable. We are never told what McQueary says he told Paterno.
McQueary should never coach again. He's 6'4" or 6'6". He was Penn State's QB in 1996 and 1997, so he would have been about 27 or 28 in 2002. He was an athletic male in his physical prime.
He made eye contact with a pre-teen boy who was being anally raped. Here's a kid who saw another adult and must have thought he was going to be helped.
McQueary turned and walked away . . . and called his father. And McQueary knew Sandusky. Sandusky was the defensive coordinator when McQueary played at Penn State. Heck, Sandusky was JoePa's close friend - and the heir apparent, who was supposed to be the next Penn State head coach - when McQueary played.
Ah. The Mike McQueary who walked away from the pre-teen boy being anally raped? This recruiting letter, sent after McQueary joined the Penn State coaching staff (he's now in charge of recruiting) starts to look a little ironic:
Post shows ironic connections
