I used to watch Tom Snyder after getting off of work. He chainsmoked thru his show, too.

I think O’Reilly is the Leprachaun or the Loofha Man, definitely the latter. I love all the “conservative” talkers (many of them have become too enamored of their GOP friends, and don’t seem to be as conservative as I would like - Rush comes to mind as does Hannity and Levin; Savage sometimes is fooled by Dems who agree with him on one issue), and get annoyed with all of them too.
Snyder interviewed Jerry Garcia and Timothy Leary together one nite. Pretty weird show.
The other thing that burs me up with Savage is his stupid claim that Obozo is “probably the smartest man to ever be president.”
How could Savage be so dumb as to make such a stupid statement?
Edward R. Morrow was another one who smoked a lot during his show. He was often spoofed for it.
Near the end of the show when Lewis is kept submerged in a tank of water it looked like things got a little out of control prompting Lewis to yell a Martin "Haven't you heard? Our quarrel is over!"
BTW, IMO those old Milton Berle shows from the 50's are pure entertainment. I enjoyed them then I really like them now. I don't have copies but I watched several when I has Netflix.
...Savage is an independent. He is not doctrinaire left or right; instead he looks at one issue at a time. Kind of like fiscal conservative, social liberal.
...There's a channel in Narfook, VA, Antenna TV that shows old 50 60 70 80's series shows. Benny is another in the line up...
...Berle is good, but, there's something about that cigar. The way he uses it as a prop somehow is irritating. Is it just me???
When Jones was reporting on Bush shenanigans (real and imagined) he was Noory's co-host for at least three hours several times a week (it seemed to me).
Before tonight I think Jones has been on four or five times since Jones turned his attention to Obama. One of those times was to answer to Noory and explain why his (Jones') website had been "unfair" to PRESIDENT! Obama! Noory was furious.
Jones has had one normal (3-hour) appearance since Obama and I think he never mentioned Obama's name, just talked about "the government."
Noory seems to have started to realize that PRESIDENT! Obama is not the Messiah after all.
Nevertheless Noory hates Bush so much that Jones probably figured a way to blame Bush for Fast and Furious and therefore he is invited back on the show -- and C2C can finally! mention it. It's Bush's fault! (I bet.)
I don't recall ever seeing Berle smoke. Not on his show.

And when Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey were accusing Clinton of sexual assault, rape, etc. where you standing up for him? I think not. Were you calling these women liars? I think not. And what about Gennifer Flowers, she had a 12 year relationship with Clinton and didn't say a word til he was running for president, why is that? And in the Jones case IIRC that case was dismissed but Jones still got hundreds of thousands of dollars - In the Cain case, where there's smoke, there's fire. All of these women can't be lying. And that's where the hypocrisy lies, if these charges were being made about obama, FR would be ecstatic, proof or no proof FReepers would be screaming guilty guilty guilty obama needs to quit he needs to step down, but, because it's a republican, well gee, it's all lies, he's being set up, etc etc.
