Edward R. Morrow was another one who smoked a lot during his show. He was often spoofed for it.
Near the end of the show when Lewis is kept submerged in a tank of water it looked like things got a little out of control prompting Lewis to yell a Martin "Haven't you heard? Our quarrel is over!"
BTW, IMO those old Milton Berle shows from the 50's are pure entertainment. I enjoyed them then I really like them now. I don't have copies but I watched several when I has Netflix.
...There's a channel in Narfook, VA, Antenna TV that shows old 50 60 70 80's series shows. Benny is another in the line up...
...Berle is good, but, there's something about that cigar. The way he uses it as a prop somehow is irritating. Is it just me???
When Jones was reporting on Bush shenanigans (real and imagined) he was Noory's co-host for at least three hours several times a week (it seemed to me).
Before tonight I think Jones has been on four or five times since Jones turned his attention to Obama. One of those times was to answer to Noory and explain why his (Jones') website had been "unfair" to PRESIDENT! Obama! Noory was furious.
Jones has had one normal (3-hour) appearance since Obama and I think he never mentioned Obama's name, just talked about "the government."
Noory seems to have started to realize that PRESIDENT! Obama is not the Messiah after all.
Nevertheless Noory hates Bush so much that Jones probably figured a way to blame Bush for Fast and Furious and therefore he is invited back on the show -- and C2C can finally! mention it. It's Bush's fault! (I bet.)
