I am sure Tim doesn’t care. He KNOWS there is a higher power that took note of the action and the ones who did it will be reminded of it one day. Judgment Day.
It is disgraceful. Imagine if Tebow was a Muslim and the tacklers fell on their knees and bowed to him mocking his faith.
They’d been out of the NFL by now.
Wow, this is series.
God can see/hear us praying no matter what pose we take. Therefore, the bended knee routine is gilding the lily.
Tebow may very well practice what he preaches, walk the walk, etc. but his nonstop injection of subject A into subject B when the two are not directly related means it was inevitable that he would be be a target for mockery.
Let the red mist dissipate and understand that they are not mocking his faith or God or religion in general, simply that this NFL newbie has been getting an inordinate amount of attention for things that mostly occur off the football field. Win first, preach second, if you like.
Considering the punishing physical abuse that a Tarkenton, Anderson, Bradshaw, Layne, Baugh, Starr, etc. must have taken, a few digs at one’s look-at-me antics is actually getting off light.
Gruden's a breath of fresh air compared to that putz, that cut-rate Cosell, Kornheiser.
It only serves Tebow well, that the secular world mocks him.
My husband calls this sort of stuff “showing their asses”. I don’t know if that is a Marine Corps saying or not, but I always think of a baboon primping for attention.
these people piss me off. way too much money to play a sport and treat the rest of society as if they’re not worthy of their presence. ive said for a long time that nobody should be dancing and prancing on the football field, unless it’s after a touchdown and even then in respectful moderation. making an ass of yourself just because you disrupted a pass or made a single tackle makes you look like a damn fool. which, for most of them, they are.
The lions are classless. Anyone who has watched them play knows this.
However, I like my football minus the preaching.
A funny thing I stumbled on this afternoon:

hey didn’t mock his faith, they mocked his celebration. Any player in any sport that develops a standard way of celebrating a big play WILL have it thrown back in his face when somebody gets a big play against him. He always does the knee drop, so it happened back at him. And he said he thought it was funny. Really people, get over it. This panic anytime anybody does anything even slightly rude to Tebow is pathetic and makes Christians look like a bunch of whiney mommas boys.
Tebow was mocked by the Lions because he wears the jersey of the Broncos. The Lions don't like the Broncos. That's because Tony Scheffler was run out of Denver. Scheffler's an ex-Bronco and did not leave on good terms. Tulloch is his teammate and directly went against Tebow on the field.
This is football. It's not nice. People are called a lot worse in the piles.
Years ago I had 2 season tickets for a NFL team. As the players became fools, I dropped the tickets. A few years later, I lost interest altogether in the NFL. That spread to all pro sports. I haven’t watched an NFL or NBA game in 20 years. I did see a couple MLB games in there, which broke that streak. My daughter was a fan, but she lost it, too.
I heard Rush talk about it. It doesn't surprise me. The Lions...I quit watching them about 15-20 years ago. I was a big fan...my Sundays would be ruined when they lost. The last 15-20 years my Sundays have been fantastic.
History repeats itself because human nature is static.
As crummy as the Lions have been for the last 15-20 years, rooting for them this season would have been really easy now that they’re good (and since I’m a Vikings fan I’m completely disgusted with the state of that organization and its incessant begging for a billion-dollar stadium).
However, I tend to like my winners classy, so I guess I won’t be rooting for Detroit either.
