Republican 2012 presidential candidates Republican 2012 presidential candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich met in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on current economic and social issues facing the U.S.
Did anyone even watch it on a Sat night? Now I forgot about SNL. Have to go back and watch the skit.
Here Here!!! You got it straight on.
Get over it.. that was yesterday.
Negative.
You ever gonna get around to answering the dozen questions you ducked?
“I wont ever forget how Herman sleazed Perry.”
That’s just heartless...
very cogent thoughts, and spot on. No doubt you’re a free thinker with much more to say.
Prolly not, it’s late.
What questions?
Looks like the 2 ALTERNATIVES got ahead of the game and decided to provide the PEOPLE with a FORUM in which they could HEAR ALTERNATIVE IDEAS.... Wow! What a concept!
LoL! Indeed!
?????
I must have missed something. Did they call for the government to hand out work visas to illegal immigrants? Rick Perry did.
you’re confusing politeness with demogogary.
They are parroting Perry’s position.
“If you use that nasty line again, you will be very sorry.”
Why? It’s no more nasty than the things you have been saying about Cain on this thread.
I’ve sat here reading through 1100 posts because I was at work, and didn’t get a chance to hear what the 2 candidates that I support talked about in a debate that they were involved in. But it seems like every 5th post I have to read some snarky crap that you or some other Perry supporter has come here to spew. Not once have I come to a thread about Perry, or even Mittens and spent the entire thread being a jacka$$ to his supporters, including you. I’ve never wasted not one post on that juvenile behavior.
We have our candidate. we like our candidate. We don’t like your candidate. I liked Perry when he first announced, not as much as Palin, but was willing to give him a chance. He shot himself in the foot with his stance on illegals. Period that’s it with me. I’m done with Perry, and so it seems is most of the Republicans being polled. I’m sorry he feels the way he does about illegals, but that is not Cain’s fault , Gingrich’s fault, Palin’s fault, or any of their supporters fault. If you’re at the point that when your only defense of the person you support is to run around a forum and look for others enjoying a discussion by the candidate they support, and spend 1100 posts badmouthing us, maybe it’s time to take a hard look at who YOU’RE supporting.
I can tell you this, yours, and some others comments on this thread whom I won’t mention because I didn’t ping them to this post, comments aren’t winning any people to your side of the campaign. Your constant attacks of the other candidates sound a lot more like Dem tactics than ours. I know that’s probably not the case since you’ve been around here since 98 but you’re damn sure not making any new followers by using this method.
Our target is Obozo. If Perry gets the nomination I’ll support him, much in the same way I supported W. With much more zeal than I supported McLame. If Mittens wins, he’ll not get my vote, instead I’ll work to elect Senators, and Congresspersons. If your personality won’t allow you to reciprocate, maybe you should stop posting until after the primaries, because it already sounds like your headed for the point where you’d rather see Obama win if Perry doesn’t get the nomination, just so you can do your version of stomping your feet and pouting. If that’s your plan, and the others who are doing the same stuff on FR, God help us, because I truly fear we are headed full tilt toward a civil war if either he or Romney is elected. If that’s what you and the others on here that run around bad mouthing others, and their candidate just because they don’t support your candidate want, then 1 of us is in the wrong place, and I always thought Free Republic was about SAVING the republic, not watching it burn, cause you don’t get your way.
The ones about why it’s wrong to secure our border with deadly force.
The ones about why you support benefits for illegals that Americans cannot recieve.
You didn’t answer then before. You ducked and dodged for 3 entire pages of posts. You made excuses, changed the subject, used snarky comments...
Pretty much what you do on every thread you post significantly in. So I don’t imagine you will now. People should read your post history before seriously engaging you though. Save themselves arguing with someone that acts just like a liberal claiming to be a cnservative.
You have won the best reply on this thread award, three blue ribbons for you.
Now, having said that, I thought Cain did very well. I think he helped himself in a debate that I thought only had a downside potential for him. He was comfortable, jovial, and obviously had studied for the debate. His knowledge pales in comparison to Newt's, but then whose doesn't?
I wouldn't transpose his performance here to a debate with Obama. He knew coming in that Newt wasn't going to blindside him. He knew it would be friendly. With Obama that will be different.
Newt was classic Newt. Brilliant, humorous, yet serious.
I like Herman Cain, but we already have a Black man with no experience in the white house, we can't afford another one.
And the “Black” comment isn't racist. It's for all you “white guilt” people out there who think THIS TIME we'll get it right with a Republican Black guy. Race shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with it.
Cain is inexperienced PERIOD. We can NOT afford OJT at this time in our history.
Herman Cain sings John Lennon's Imagine, and, more seriously,
