"I can only conclude that your decision to issue a subpoena, authorized by a party-line vote, was driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation," Obama's counsel, Kathryn Ruemmler, wrote in a letter to the top Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce committee.

Committee chairman Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich, blasted the White House response

Why don’t they subpoena him for his college records, who paid for his University tuition, his Masters Thesis. I bet the guy has something he is trying to cover up, otherwise he would cooperate.

US Title 28- Rule 45-e

(e) Contempt. The issuing court may hold in contempt a person who, having been served, fails without adequate excuse to obey the subpoena. A nonparty’s failure to obey must be excused if the subpoena purports to require the nonparty to attend or produce at a place outside the limits of Rule 45 (c)(3)(A)(ii).

The Supreme Court has been quite clear on this. These types of documents are NOT covered by executive privilege. And the Roberts Court is already a bit peeved with Occupier in Chief.

” - - - a subpoena— is a significant intrusion on Executive Branch interests - - “

HEY! YEAH YOU, Kathryn Ruemmler, just what are those “interests” of Obama’s?

How much stock did Obama buy in Solyndra?

Was Obama promised a seat on the board when he was through shafting the American tax payer?

"I can only conclude that your decision to issue a subpoena, authorized by a party-line vote, was driven more by partisan politics than a legitimate effort to conduct a responsible investigation,"

She can conclude whatever she wants to, if it is a legitimate subpoena and they refuse to comply, use the full authority of the congress to make them comply.

This is a direct challenge to the oversight authority of the congress and if they don't force compliance then they won't have any authority and might as well go home.
