PITTSBURGH (KDKA) Chris Barnes, 11, is getting his latest round of vaccinations for measles and tetanus.
It doesnt really scare me as much as other people, its just a shot, he said.
Without regular immunizations, Chris would be turned away at his pediatricians office.
Dr. Wayne Yankus refuses to see patients unless they follow the government recommended immunization schedule.

Apparently the Air Force is giving its lower echelon NCOs PhDs in Immunology now too.
:)
Thank you. I was about to post that graph myself.
MD logic:
When I was in the Army I got a shot of penicillin. Anaphylaxis followed forthwith. Medic saves me with epi injector. Therefore by anecdote penicillin bad, epi good.
No that is not medical logic; that is your logic and a poor example.
My dad was given penicillin while serving in the South Pacific during WWII. It nearly killed him as he was allergic but didnt know it at the time.
In 1992 my dad contracted bacterial meningitis and was deathly ill. The doctors wanted to give him penicillin but knew it would be risky. However without it my dad would die. An immunologist was called in from another major medical center to consult. He performed some skin patch tests and determined that my fathers allergy to penicillin had decreased, as allergies sometime do. It was still risky but not as risky as letting the infection to continue to rage. My father was given penicillin and he lived and fully recovered.
Whatever. We can agree to disagree. You can look all that up yourself and decide if the research was conducted to your satisfaction. The gov’t “experts” can’t get something as simple as the ratio of foods we should be eating correct, but we should all unquestioningly trust their “experts” on immunization schedule. Fine.
And if your kid picks his nose and leaves virus and or bacteria for the next kid that sits in his seat at school, your failure as a parent to keep your kids finger out of his nose affects other kids. You getting the drift here Tom? Furthermore, if your son doesn't get the HPV vaccine women everywhere are at risk assuming your son gets around a lot. How should you be penalized for not injecting your underage children with HPV vaccine to save America's women?
I'm pointing out the fact that you took a post on an anti-vax website completely at face value, without any further research on the subject, then posted it here confident it said what it claimed it did. When nothing could be further from the truth.
Unfortunately that is par for the course with anti-vaxxers.
Exactly! Since we cannot control our child's behavior in most situations (nose picking, covering the mouth when coughing, sneezing into a tissue, washing hands after using the bathroom), it is absolutely incumbent upon us to reduce the number of communicable diseases our child can pass on, especially given a kid's ignoring of proper hygiene.
You getting the drift here Tom?
Perfectly. Thanks for a great example!
This isn't just a U.S. issue.
Considering every developed country in the world has essentially the same requirements concerning vaccines, how many "experts" are you willing to ignore?
The vaccination schedules are becoming more and more important due to the increase in immigrants from third world countries.
Indeed.
The most recent Pertussis outbreak in California, which killed 10 children, was linked to illegal aliens.
>> “So in the entire developed world there is absolutely nobody “honest” who has looked into the dangers of vaccines in the past century???” <<
.
A most illogical conclusion to take from my post!
There are far too many to list, but their books are available on Amazon, and all have found vaccines unacceptable.
>> “Parents do all manner to stupid things with their kids.” <<
.
At the top of that list of stupidness is “Allow them to be vaccinated.”
Why? Can you explain why, if it is so readily apparent that it is dangerous to vaccinate your children (at least to some internet warriors), every developed country in the world recommends vaccination? Is it some sort of unbelievably vast conspiracy?
There are far too many to list, but their books are available on Amazon, and all have found vaccines unacceptable.
I'm sure if they have a book to sell, and nothing sells better than a controversy, they're the height of accuracy.
Self interest requires no conspiracy.
AMA and big Pharma own the FDA, and merely operate in self interest mode.
>> “...they’re the height of accuracy” <<
.
And you’re the depth of sleeze?
AMA and big Pharma own the FDA, and merely operate in self interest mode.
You are (purposely?) ignoring my point. Fine, the AMA and "BigPharma" run the FDA, but what about every other developed country on Earth? Does the AMA and "BigPharma" rule the world?
A lot of other countries have many less vaccines on their schedules and also have a lower infant mortality rate. maybe those two things are related and maybe not. The US used to have many less vaccines on their schedule and had a lower infant mortality rate. Maybe related and maybe not. I haven’t come across anything that explains why that is to my satisfaction.
Ha, ha! I’m not an “anti-vaxxer”. You made some assumptions early on and you’re the type of person who has difficulty admitting his assumptions were wrong. LOL at you.
You are such a strong pro-government asset (you follow the government line WRT fluoride, as well) that you stop investigating and questioning once you decide what you think you’re supposed to decide. Then that’s when you put your brain in neutral. And as soon as somebody makes a mistake in your estimation, you refuse to listen to anything else.
Maybe some day you’ll recognize I’m right about you. Or not.
Go away and wail away at me. I won’t be replying. I have no need to.
I get it, you were just "pretending" to be one, right? Well, you were doing a very good job. I'm sure you just accidentally stumbled upon that anti-vax website, and all the posts about Adjuvant 65 were merely in jest.
As an aside, what did you specifically say that should have made me question my assumptions?
LOL at you.
Did you really just post that? How old are you?

No, I studied all this in my years in school, and all the evidence points to the safety of vaccines (and fluoride - you're reading up on my old posts?! That's really, really creepy).
Maybe some day youll recognize Im right about you. Or not.
I'd go with "or not".

What, run out of websites to plagiarize?
