I like both, but seems like Newt would be awfully hard to beat in this format.
I suspect it’ll be more like a constructive discussion between two adults, rather than a competitive debate per se. Where the objective will be to learn, rather than simply ‘win’.
Mybe they are more evenly matched than you mike expect. Cain has the advantage in that he is extremely likeable in a public forum. Newt always comes off as somewhat arrogant which is a disadvantage in a debate.
Agreed. It will be darn hard for Cain to look any better than “mediocre”.
“..Newt would be awfully hard to beat in this format.”
That was my first thought, too.
Newt will focus on his knowledge about foreign policy issues. Although I can’t stand the man because of his past ethical & moral blunders, you do have to admit he does very well in a debate forum.
Look for him to gain 5% or more points in the polls while Cain drops an equal amount.
This debate will reveal weather or not Cain is a serious candidate, we know Newt is.
Newt would be, but Cain has the underdog's "advantage," in that he only needs to hold his own. Frankly, I think they'll both benefit from it.
