Was the recent attack on Herman Cains presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

The time line is meaningless... talks went on before formal hiring.
“What can you bring to us?” [For example]
That post caught my attention, as well.
We are going to burn your boy right out of this race. You want war, you’ve got it.
You are way too kind.
We're getting into serious "reelect Obama territory" with this infighting.
Cain crossed his fingers and hoped none of this would come out. Well it has. If not now, it would have soon. You just don't hide sexual harrassment settlements during a campaign.
Cain's the one who effed up. Cain's the one who needs to grow up really fast--let us heal our party and get back to the issues--or he needs to go home.
If you're going to flame me....consider this fuel to your fire: Newt's the only one who can hold his own against Zero and the media. Everyone else is a distraction.
Do you really think someone brought up on a poor west Texas cotton farm is raised by liberal parents? I think not.
I think he still could pull it off, but he sure better be able to QUICKLY prove his allegations regarding Perry and IMMEDIATELY get past this sexual harassment issue.
He needs the help of an experianced A-Team and he needs it ASAP.
No you were right both times, he donated the 1000 frog pelts to both campaigns, Neal Boortz was kind enough to point that out.
What is it with you Cain supporters that you are completely incapable of supporting Herman without attacking Perry? It tells me that your support is weak and emotion based and not intellectually founded.
I support Perry without attacking any of the other candidates because my guy has a record of conservative accomplishment in one of the country's most important states and has a platform to shrink the federal government and grow the economy.
Actually, aside from all this, I don’t think Cain has the experience to be President. Maybe the scandal is a blessing in disguise...
When first released, Politico said: “The first woman was identified to POLITICO by a former association board member”

When did Curt Anderson work as a board member for the Nation Restaurant Association?
Also Politco first had enough together to ask Cain about it starting October 19. Curt Anderson didn't go to work for Perry until October ~23.
“But then, Im a female and Southern, so we generally get away with it.”
And God bless you for it.
You seem more than willing to believe a couple of lying, opportunistic "women." How PC of you.
OK. If you "KNOW" he wasn't...then who WAS and tell us HOW you "know."
Sorry...but the evidence that we have says otherwise. Enlighten us.
You know, now would be a good time for Perry supporters to stop pushing the story. It’s not helping your candidate.
Just sayin’
It’s folly to think that talks didn’t go on before the formal hiring; for example, “what do your services bring to us?”
Shield is a Perrywinkle, Marlboro Man worshiping unfulfilled drooler.
self-destruct sequence for the Republican Party has been initiated...
Screw Cain...are you making sexual innuendos by that remark? If so, I am offended. Now, get a grip and admit that your guy is losing. And, with these statements, you show just how little you really know.
The aim of this story is to suffocate the candidate’s message at a crucial point. (Which is why we never heard about Edwards’s improprieties while he was a candidate, of course.)
The problem is that Cain was rising in the polls and people were just getting to know him.
Folks who think this wouldn’t be a Dem smear (I have no opinion yet) have to remember the media are not just about cutting off a candidate’s election, but controlling the person’s image in the first place. Look at Palin—they came down immediately when she was a VP candidate, and they kept it up relentlessly. Haven’t seen any stories on her since she declined to run.
Cain had to be stopped. Just because I don’t want that to be the case doesn’t mean it won’t be successful, unfortunately.
