MIAMI, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Children of illegal immigrants living in Florida are suing the state for charging them out-of-state tuition.
Wendy Ruiz, a sophomore at Miami Dade College, is one of those behind the lawsuit.
She is paying $5,000 more than she technically has to, because her college insisted upon charging her out-of-state tuition when her parents were unable to produce legal immigration documents.
Children of illegals have NO STANDING!
Doh!
But its all so unfair. LOL!!
I guess I should file a lawsuit against the University of Delaware for charging me out-of-state tuition. In 1974, DuPont transferred me to Delaware. I was taking courses for an MBA. I purchased a home, I was a registered voter, I had a Delaware drivers license and I could serve on a Delaware jury. BUT the University of Delaware decided I hadn’t lived here a year so i had to pay out-of-state tuition.
The registrar’s words stuck with me: “The state of Delaware has their rule and we have ours.” I shudder to think what their attitude today is.
Why not have the Court just Rule that she has no “Standing”, like U.S. Citizens who question The Messiah’s Eligibility????
I’d like her to explain how her parents are able to live and work here, without the use of fake or stolen documents ?
