Cain gets testy with reporters asking about sexual harassment allegations

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain got testy with a group of reporters chasing him throughout a hotel in the suburbs of Washington on Wednesday, refusing to discuss the story about harassment allegations lodged at him back in the 1990s.

“Let me say one thing,” Cain told the scrum of reporters. “I’m here with these doctors and that’s what I’m going to talk about. So don’t even bother asking me all of these other questions that you all are curious about. Don’t even bother.”

When reporters began asking him about the allegations — that Cain has repeatedly denied this week — Cain raised his voice.

“What did I say? Excuse me. Excuse me,” Cain said.

The MSM didn’t think it was a big deal that Clinton was accused of rape(a credible accusation), exposed himself to women, had a long standing affair while governor of Arkansas, groped a grieving widow looking for support, snorted cocaine like a vacuum cleaner, I could go on. He was still deemed to be presidential material and fit to keep (ahem) serving this country.

An affair with a Whitehouse intern? Oh stop, leave him alone they said. Ken Starr is evil they said. Alec Baldwin was calling for Trent Lotts death. They wanted to hang Matt Drudge over “the dress” for crying out loud. It is more than a little hypocritical for them to say that 2 unfounded accusations of sexual harassment(could be anything-very broad term) make it impossible for Cain to run for president. Please, give me a break!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Romney was behind this. He simply cannot compete against a real conservative and he knows it! Romney also knows that the media will jump at the chance to discredit a true conservative. It is a dirty tactic and it will not work.

Are they left or right?
Are they dating shepard smith or anderson cooper?
Did they explore the lewinsky scandal with the same vigor?

Cain handled them with precisely the amount of attention and respect that they deserve. This is a non issue and everybody knows it.

I agree. However the gambit now is to make the story about how Cain won't put up with their BS, not about the initial and highly questionable allegations.

They are trying to create a 'story' where they had none.

Note that more MSM column inches and air minutes are being used on this matter than on 'Fast and Furious' and the 'green' for 'Green' Scandals (Solyndra and other near-defuncts getting megabuck loans and then folding fast).

It’s about time Cain put a lid on this.

I think he’s added fuel to the fire by continuing to talk about it.

I even suspected he was enjoying the fact that it enraged his supporters to the point that they were increasing donations.

Well you’re forgetting that so-called journalist Nina Burleigh actually once said she would willingly orally service the impeached former President just to thank him for keeping abortion legal.

Sorry to disagree with my fellow FReepers, but Cain needs to put the matter to rest. The MSM will dog him relentlessly until he agrees to let the two ‘victims’ speak. Of course these ‘victims’ are only out for a quick payday, but by stonewalling the press, Cain is making matters worse, not better.

If he were Anthony Weiner, he could have used the ignore strategy for a bit, but as a Republican, that won’t fly. If the allegations are as innocuous as he claims, he has nothing to worry about from his supporters, including me.

On the other hand, if there is a payoff for one years salary in return for not filing a claim, that might be problematic.

Cain will be subject to death by a thousand cuts from the press the longer he holds out. He needs to get his facts straight and get out front of this mess. Ignoring the issue will only make matters worse.

I don’t see where Cain was testy at all. But, even if he was, so what.

Disagree completely with you. Suppose, just suppose he put a lid on it and the story went away long enough for him to win the nomination.

Do you recall the Messiahs run for Illinois Senate seat? Obama and his minions got SEALED DIVORCE records leaked to the press and the Republican candidate Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race shortly after. Alan Keyes carpet bagged into Illinois to take over the Republican spot in the race and was destroyed by Obama.

Do you have any doubt that if Cain were to get the nomination that these records would not be leaked to the media? Better to get the facts, as unpleasant as they may be, out in the open asap.

It’s a great fundraising tool for him. “The media is picking on a black man,” is always a winner.

Nope, wrong. Don’t play the LSM’s game. This “allegation” (even if it is true, which I very seriously doubt) is not anywhere near the class of wrongdoing as Bubba, Bambi, and other Dims. This kind of crap has to stop somewhere, and now is as good a time as any.

Mr. Cain should tell those reporters they should be covering the biggest bankruptcy in America’s history involving an ex-Democrat Governor & Obamah fundraiser.

They are covering it, up that is. NJ's largest newspaper, the Star Ledger, had the story this morning. "MF Global was slumping when Jon Corzine took over the troubled brokerage firm last year," they say.

Translation: Things were already out-of-control-bad with MF Global, and Corzine merely failed to turn things around. Nothing about a missing $600 MILLION in customer money. Nothing about co-mingling of funds. Nothing about an FBI investigation. Read the full Star Ledger story for yourself. See if I've mischaraterized it.
