Free Republic founder Jim Robinson has a message for supporters of Mitt Romney: go away.
In an email to POLITICO this afternoon, Robinson admitted that the site routinely blocks Romney supporters from posting -- and offered no apologies for the practice:
Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government, pro-constitution, pro-liberty site. Governor Romney is none of the above. His record is that of an abortionist, gay rights pushing, gun grabbing, global warming advocating, big government, mandate loving, constitution trampling, flip-flopping liberal progressive with no core values. That and the fact that he is the chief architect and advocate for ObamaCare disqualifies him for any consideration whatsoever on Free Republic as a potential nominee for the presidency.

I agree as well. Silencing the opposition is the last refuge of those who can’t defend their position.
“Door meet ass.”
Clever.
Now stop calling me ‘Door’.
NOT ONE VOTE HAS BEEN CAST IN ANY PRIMARY and yet you say this a dark day for FRee Republic?
How so?
Because there will be NO campaigning for Romney?
FYI, How about bucking up and getting to work with the aim of defeating him in the primaries?
Find yourself a conservative to support and work for your candidate!
I and a few other Illinois residents, preached this same message in the U.S. Senate race here and were roundly vilified for not supporting the arguably most liberal member of the Senate now, Mark Kirk.
I voted for the Libertarian candidate in that race and it was the first time in my life that I voted for someone that didn't have the "R" behind their name. I'll do it again if Romney is in either position on the G.O.P. presidential ticket.
Good, I'm glad you won't abuse your power, I'll be right over, have the beer cold and it better be the right brand.
But they at least provide some entertainment value.
I've always said that the Paul Cult was comic relief during these election cycles.
Most of 'em are that annoying combination of pompous and clueless, but I sometimes have to hold my sides laughing at them. :-D
If the vegans are disruptive? Sure.. kick em out.
If they're just sitting in a booth talking about how bad meat is for you... sell them a salad and take their money.
FR is private property. It is also a CONSERVATIVE activist site. It is NOT a debating society.
Bravo, Jim Rob!!!!!
I LOVE Cain.
I believe he will be the first black President of the United States- not a halfsie trumpeted to be black while his white half is ignored.
An AUTHENTIC African American who actually comes from the descendents of slaves and is proof the American dream is real!
As well they should be - I don't know of anything in the Jewish faith that conflicts with a conservative point-of-view. Actually, though I am no expert of Judaism, it seems to me that many of the values I associate with Judaism - such as natural rights derived from the Supreme Being, personal responsibility, morality and ethics - are right in line with core conservative values. And certainly it is the conservatives, not the liberals in this country, who most strongly support the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign nation.
The only "non-christians" I have a problem with are those whose belief system calls for the destruction or subjugation of the western world.
Hey, you can always vote with your feet, pal. If you wish to support that abortionist, gun grabbing, big government SOB, be my guest. Somewhere else!!
No RINOs! No Romney! Not on FR!!
Call a cop if you feel I’m abusing you.
IBTZ.
Seriously, If Free Republic was inundated with Obama-bots - you would welcome them with open arms?
Considering the WHINE coming from the mittbot trolls in this thread, should I add the keyword “Bugzapper” to give them a hint?
Or shall we leave it a surprise?
And I simply do not believe his recent politically expedient conversion to conservatism. The other day on Fox News Britt Hume said that Mitt Romney is a "perfectly tuned weather vane for the prevailing political winds".
You signed up in 1998 just to say that?
That would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.
We want a constitutional government where the rights and power of the people and the States are protected and respected. It's called the rule of law and applies even to those in Washington.
If that is extreme, screw ‘em. Socialism is unconstitutional and repugnant.
