Rove and the GOPbot Establishment better buy a clue.

These sort of gutter level political tactics may just buy the GOP a third party challenge from the Tea Party.

Beat Cain on the issues or get out of the way GOPbots.

The standard Rove slime tactics will not be tolerated this time around. The stakes are too high in 2012 for these stupid politics as usual tactics.

Sorry to say, but I never saw Cain as a serious candidate. It’s obvious that the powers that be tried to throw Rick Perry off the train from the git-go. He was the biggest threat to Romney & I think they propped Cain up to take away from Perry - as is so vivid by the Perry Haters here on this site - but Perry is the only one that has the resources to beat Romney. All this tearing down of him - again on this site - is not going to help the conservatives in the long run. Sure, Perry has flaws - but he is the most conservative with the ONLY chance to beat Romney.

People had better wake up & quit falling for the flavor of the week - it’s time to get serious.

No, this faux-scandal isn’t hurting Cain with the voters (in my area, at least).

These things are so obviously trumped up distractions; and the media hypocrisy is driving a lot of people over the fence FOR Cain. People are tired of these tactics.

I wonder what Bill Clinton has to say about all of this? The media always work hard to get a quote from him, but for some reason - silence.

But if there is documentation of any settlement, as there appears to be, his denial will hardly suffice.

Huh? Why is that? There is "documentation" of a settlement between my father's insurance company and a woman who claimed an injury from a car accident which never happened, with no evidence, and one witness - her boyfriend. Liberty Mutual paid her $57,000 to go away. Does my father's denial no longer "suffice"?

WOMEN LIE. Men lie too. People lie every single day for money. Stop pretending that "sexual harassment" is some sacrosanct area that should always be believed. I am sure many FReepers have stories of phony harassment claims to tell.

Personally I thought the takedown of Herman Cain would come in the form of legions of former Godfathers Pizza employees appearing in a string of “I Am A Victim of Herman’s Sweatshop” ads.

Some of his peers privately said

More anonymous "sources"! Meanwhile Cain has at last count 12 people who have gone on record to refute these claims.

Cain's Troubles Help Perry, Romney (Anti-Cain whispering campaign started weeks ago)

Cain ain't got troubles...some nuisance issues maybe, but the current attacks will only strengthen the resolve of many to vote for Herman.

People have gotten tired of this kind of garbage, and it will only result in the further abandonment of the "attackers".

I saw a thread earlier speculating (emphasis on speculation) on whether Karl Rove was the source of the Politico hit piece. Another thread yesterday reminded us of how the Romney campaign was involved in a 2008 hit piece (also from Politico) against Fred Thompson’s campaign, claiming he was dropping out of the race just prior to the Iowa caucus. I’m not making an accusation. But one has to wonder whether this was part of a well-planned effort by the GOP.

GO HERMAN!!!

>>But they hesitated to be more specific.<<

I’m sure they were. Specifics tend to disavow the original intent of the statement which wouldn’t be a good thing if you are trying to spread propaganda.

It’s not the allegations that will take Cain down this time - it’s the changing of his story issues. The man is always changing his story - this is not good.

Posted so we can see that the D.C. insider campaign againt Cain has been in the works for weeks since he started gaining support.

The problem is, anyone could have seen this. If Cain's chief of staff couldn't see this for the smoke, he should be replaced. Anyone running for a top office or job knows before hand that if they have any "skeletons", it doesn't matter if the are "untrue", you better identify them and have a plan on how to deal with them. That Cain's campaign was totally unprepared is very troubling. This is the first time I have felt that Cain and his staff may not be up to the job of running a national campaign. I don't know what I would have left though after Cain. Maybe Gingrich, but with his"baggage" I'm not so sanguine that he could beat Obama.

This episode by Cain is not a small thing, I think it will be devastating, mostly because of how poorly he handled it. I feel sick about it.

AND CALLED THESE LIES EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE... AND CHALLENGED ANYONE TO COME FORWARD WITH WHAT DOES NOT EXIST... EVIDENCE! Hey mitt and all of your backers... and you to rove... FOAD bitches!

Nothing can help Perry, he’s dead. It is also unlikely that an anonymous whispering campaign about Cain could help liberal Romney. It could help Bachmann or Santorum.

This will probably be the beginning of the end for Cain’s surge, giving Perry something of a second wind.

Bull crap. If Cain loses support over this, hopefully it will go to Newt. If the GOP nominates Perry, turn out the lights; the party's over. The Obama camp must be salivating at the idea of running against Perry.

FREEPERS!

Do not eat our own over this! We do not know the source and speculation is a waste of energy.

Liberals love it when we turn on each other!

Obama is the target-——STAY FOCUSED!!!

Seems like Cain is racking up some major baggage. All these little things are adding up
