Early in his candidacy, Herman Cain may have accepted tens of thousands of dollars in goods and services for his campaign from a tax-exempt organization founded by his top aide, documents from the organization show, raising the prospect of serious violations of tax and election law by both Mr. Cains campaign and the organization.
The documents suggest that the nonprofit organization, Prosperity USA, effectively subsidized some early costs of his presidential bid, paying for computer equipment, charter planes and air travel for Mr. Cain or the aide, Mark Block, who is his chief of staff.
Such expenditures would violate federal election and campaign laws, which prohibit tax-exempt groups from engaging in any political activity or contributing to election campaigns, a major problem for Mr. Cain. He spent much of Monday fending off accusations that he had sexually harassed two former employees of a trade association he once led.

I love Cain, but he is done. If you can’t see that, you haven’t been watching politics and the media very closely. I know these are basically trumped up, no substance stories. But doesn’t matter to the 80% of Americans who get their news through regular sources. All they have heard is Cain committed sexual harassment, and that he took illegal campaign contributions.
And of course it is a big time media double standard. But doesn’t matter. Just like the hits on Palin have stopped her from running as a viable candidate. The media is now doing the same thing to Cain. We can say all day, it’s because the media is scared of Cain (and they are). But doesn’t matter. He had over a week to prepare for this. He knew the story was coming out, even before Politico asked him about it over a week ago. Shows his campaign is pretty amateur to not be prepared for when the story broke.
Sad day for us conservatives. But stop deluding ourselves. Cain was going to peak and fall back during the next couple of months anyway. He doesn’t have the organization and backing to win the primaries. Yes, he may be tied or leading in polls. But that won’t be what gets him over the top. You have to have a top notch political organization, that knows how to run a ground game in each state. If Cain were a liberal democrat (like Obama), he might pull it off. Because the media would never highlight his gaffs and failure to answer basic policy questions. But they will with Cain or any conservative.
The Cain party is over. All today’s media stories did was cost him any shot of being VP. He was never going to get the nomination.
As Gerald Celente says about the NYT: “The toilet paper of record”.
No reason for Mr. Celente to change his opinion at this point I see.
Horseshit.
The guy I’m most likely to vote for has unquestioned integrity, puts the interests of the USA and its citizens first, is opposed to rebuilding and defending the world on our indebted dime, and is opposed to handing out foreign aid that we need here. Hint it isn’t Obama.
In this day and age of rampant corruption, integrity means much more than politics.
Yep the typical Cain supporters. For you, it is not what he did or what he is doing, even if much worse stuff are found about him many of you would be defending him, because you guys only follow like a cult the one who gives you the most red meat of empty bumper sticker rhetoric and the joker is giving you plenty of it and you are loving him for it.
John Lee Hooker is the KING OF ENDLESS BOOGIE!
Got a month under your belt and attacking FReepers. Good luck with all that.
Maybe....
But Cain is backed by the Koch brothers....more money there than Soros!
However, Perry and Romney are chicken salad, made from chicken $#!+.
LOL
I believe you have nailed this one!
SO, who are you supporting?
It has to be Perry, Romney or Obama.
I think it is Nobama. He can’t use the race card if Cain wins the primary. David Gregory so much as said this.
SO, who are you suppoting?
Are they in the GOP?
I am sure your post would get lots of high fives at DUmmyland. Here, not so much, and deservedly so.
Poppycock. Cain’s team didn’t know what precisly the Politico article was going to say until it came out. They made the decision to not respond to anything publically until they knew what they were responding to.
Which in this case was a bunch of vague, unfocused charges from unnamed sources. Now as to the rest of your analysis, time will tell. His campaign may indeed not be as skilled in running a ground game as Romney’s for instance, but they’ve accomplished quite a lot in a short time. We shall see, but I won’t write Cain off yet.
My last CEO used to call it non coherent rambling. It is quite common.
or did the Hussein gang send you to FR.?
what ever...you are a dreamer, ahhh maybe a Ron Paul supporter...just not a Cain supporter...
well keep dreaming looser and I suggest you stay up and watch the Greta repeat show later...open your eyes...smell the flowers, we American working, voters are tired of Political hacks..by the way Billy boy committed adultery in the White House while his wife and ‘daughter’ slept upstairs and it didn't hurt him...
I for one believe Cain and will continue to support him, as for you take you propaganda somewhere else...
good nite Looser...
Horseshit.
