I will say this much for the former Governor Foster of Louisiana. Back in 2002, when Derek Todd Lee, the I-10 serial killer was active, he acknowledged the state could not always be there, and advised the women of the state, “You have the right to get a gun permit. Learn to use it.”
WOW!!
I AM VERY IMPRESSED. Finally, the truth. Way past time to eradicate rabid animals masquerading as humans.
What kind of “attack” was this?
And individual, or a “mob of yutes”?
I’m way ahead of your Shire Reeve...
Sheriff Wright talks the way people used to talk. It’s a damn shame how many people don’t think like he does anymore.
I bet many of his comments would give progressives heart palpatations.
“He said Lance “doesn’t fight police or men folk — he just goes after women.” He said Lance is not married because, “No woman can stay married to him because he beats them down too much.”
Wright said, “This is a horrific crime her life was threatened so many times.”
Wright said he knows “liberals” don’t think you can just keep people in jail, but that Lance “should not have the right or opportunity to violate a good, upstanding woman.”
Wright said, “It’s too bad someone with a concealed weapons permit didn’t walk by. That would fix it.” He said people are tired of doing the right thing and criminals getting away with their actions.
He said several times, “I want you to get a concealed weapons permit.”
Wright said, “I’m tired of looking at victims saying, ‘There’s life after this’ I’m tired of saying, ‘We’re sorry, we can’t keep them in jail.’”
Wright said in his view gun control is, “How fast can you can get the barrel of your gun back on the target?”
Wright said the attack is not the fault of Millken Park. He said, “It’s a nice place for families.”
He said officers patrol the area all the time and respond to various calls there. He said, “Don’t blame anyone for having an animal on their property We can’t get it all.”
He encouraged women to walk in groups, and he ended by saying again, “I want you to get a concealed weapons permit. Don’t get Mace. Get a firearm.”
And then he said, “I think I better stop before I get sanctioned.”
There are.

A REAL MAN wanting to protect women. God bless him and I hope the women take his advice.

Is SC an open-carry state?
And then he said, "I think I better stop before I get sanctioned."
Way too late.
The Gun Grabbers already have you in their sights (so to speak).
I’m not sure I like the fact he said he’s concerned about getting sanctioned at the end of the article...
I think he needs to shed that concern and give the guy a medal for sayign the right things and encouraging women, and everyone for that matter to get a Concealed Carry Permit...
My husband and I drove through Spartanburg County a little over a week ago. I can understand why Sheriff Wright is aggravated. Maybe it will get better after this announcement.
Good Sheriff! :-)
I don't think our sheriff will have to say that here. In the last election the two top candidates for sheriff competed to prove which one was the most supportive of the 2nd Amendment. The one who was slightly less gung ho won but that's OK. It was like having a vote on porter house or ribeye steaks for dinner.
If we can't have decent laws, we can at least have fewer criminals... Conceal carry helps with that...
