Powerful enough to heat electric blankets? Who’s going to pedal all night?

I remember riding one of these at a science display one time. They have no idea how much work they are in for. When they are through they will have a whole new appreciation for "the grid." Idiots.

I grew up on the farm. Dad used a electric powered conveyor to carry the silage up and into the feedwagon.

He instilled in me an appreciation for how much labor-saving power can be conducted through a small electric cord.

Electricity makes big, mundane jobs an enjoyable snap.

Powering that generator, on the other hand...............well, they’re in for a surprise. Power in has to exceed power out.

They’ll be back to using coal before long.

Too sad really...these people are truly aimless, the hidden under current of our society. now in the spotlight...every family can claim one or two, but now they’ve gathered in various areas for all of us to see, and maybe recoil from, yet tolerate because what else can we do?

“coming from Boston”.

i.e. carbon is being added to the atmosphere to get them here.

A few words of advice to the OWS crowd:

OCCUPY A JOB! OCCUPY RESPONSIBILITY! OCCUPY COMMON SENSE!

And if you want to protest, get your arses to the front of the White House and US Capitol.

I guestimate each bike could produce 150 watts...so the 6 of them would’t power one burner. The only people getting warm from this will be the ones pedalling.

Sure hope their careful as they walk around. I hear tell that urine freezes at 20 degrees, so the place could get slippery.

Hey folks, we have 5 bike power generators coming tomorrow from Boston (donated!), we need people to help with the process of unloading them on to the site and then we will be meeting on figuring out what to do about weatherization, maintenance, distribution, education and safety (the more minds to help jam out a concrete plan for this, the…

Didn't the Professor have Gilligan riding a homemade bike Generator on Gilligan's Island? I know Ed Begley Jr. has one of them.

You just can't make this stuff up.
