Gregoire can raise taxes. How in the world is Wall Street stopping her?

How about they just require proof of citizenship before giving away taxpayer dollars to illegals. We are literally nextg door neighbors to freaking CANADA but the town I grew up in resemble a seedy back alley of Mexcio City. You drive by the welfare office and it looks like a border crossing in Texas or Califoria. Hardly a white face in the crowd.
And every one of the women with at least two kids under 4 y/o in tow.

Out on the Olympic Peninsula we have a county commissioner who brought his patty cake philosophy here from Berkeley. He says the same thing in speech after speech: "We are suffering an economic crisis that is not our fault. It is happening everywhere, even Europe".
Then he votes to down zone commercial zoning, deny business start ups, take private land for parks, halt timber harvests, limit water use and restrict building permits.

As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible: avoiding occasions of expence by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expence, but by vigorous exertions in time of Peace to discharge the Debts which unavoidable wars may have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burthen which we ourselves ought to bear.

In the state of Washington, as in the federal government, what are called “cuts” are cuts to more or less automatic increases. I think this would be plain enough: cuts are lesser increases. The state government has been increasing its spending both in total dollars spent, and relative to the GDP of the state, Accordingly, even with all the cuts, the state government’s budget is continuously in deficit, is projected to be in deficit, and state debt continues to creep up.

Gregoire and the rats took FULL credit years ago when the Bush economy was very very strong and tax revenues were great....
no, no credit to Bush or the Pub congress....just took credit for the marvelous job they did instate...
of course, not one penny saved, or expenditures decreased...no...they spent like drunken sailors....
but suddenly, when the rats took over both houses of congress, BOTH houses of congress back in 2006, suddenly the economy became not so great...
and thus here we are....
must be nice to control the media and never take accountability for your actions...

When Gregoire took office years ago, there was a surplus. It is their reckless spending and all the fraud and waste. Plus catering to the unions that has brought us to these cuts.
I wish the majority of voters weren't so darn stupid.
