In what way do you find Mr. Cain not socially conservative?
“In what way do you find Mr. Cain not socially conservative?”
Empowerment Zones confused the shit outta me. Using the government to choose winners and losers in business is not my understanding of a conservative philosophy at any level.
“In what way do you find Mr. Cain not socially conservative?”
In what way do the Empowerment Zones and jiggered, progressive tax rates make sense? I am NOT doing anything but trying to understand how this all fits with a conservatism. I am completely undecided on this. I realize there are no firm plans out there. I am talking about the philosophical underpinnings of the candidates.
Well, maybe the fact that he’s had to backtrack on several things.
Also, Cain has NO governing experience. He has never had to support legislation, gain general support for his viewpoints, or work with other entities. He ran a business and had a radio program. So his opinions, even if they had been solidly pro-life and conservative, would have been simply that: opinions.
At least Perry, while he’s not a sparkling speaker, fought for and got pro-life and other conservative positions (such as the rejection of sanctuary cities) passed.
