Did ‘Big Sis’ lay some big eggs before House Judiciary?(gunwalker)
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 27 October, 2011 | Dave Workman

Posted on 10/29/2011 6:55:46 AM PDT by marktwain

Under intense questioning Wednesday by Congressmen Darrell Issa and Trey Gowdy during a hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Homeland Security Secretary seemed to weave, dodge, protest and perhaps demonstrate some ignorance about Operation Fast and Furious.

Later, when interviewed by Lou Dobbs on Fox News’ business channel, both Issa and Gowdy expressed their frustration and disappointment at Napolitano’s performance. Issa chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which has been holding hearings on Fast and Furious.

He seemed appalled at Napolitano’s responses to his questions, and there was no small amount of verbal combat between the Secretary and both Gowdy and Issa. At one point, she suggested that Gowdy was trying to interrogate her.

Gowdy’s questioning of Napolitano began with a not-so-surprising inquiry. After recalling that Napolitano had been both a state and federal prosecutor (prior to being Arizona governor and taking the appointment as DHS secretary), he simply asked:

“Did you ever approve or sanction investigations that allowed gunwalking?”

After a noticeable pause of several seconds, her response was:

“No, not to my knowledge.”

The exchange went downhill from there. Napolitano answered some questions about procedures as a federal prosecutor with candor, but then insisted that she would not “second-guess” about Fast and Furious because it is currently under investigation. However, she did have this observation:

“What I would say is obviously there were problems with Fast and Furious.”—DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano

A few hours later, Dobbs opened up his segment with Issa and Gowdy by noting,

“The Secretary seemed, at best at times, reluctant to answer questions.”—Lou Dobbs, Fox News

In Arizona, one of the best things about the current administration is that they managed to get Janet Napolitano removed from the post of Arizona Governor. She did tremendous damage to our State.

She is a corrupt simpleton.

As such, she was an ideal partner for the Cretin-in-Chief and his West Wing Clown Show of Felon/Cretins.

Maybe with that in mind, maybe y’all can get rid of the open primary rules that are only further hampering your choices of representatives to move forward as well.

I really want the best for your state. It is my adoptive Home State after having none as a lifetime being an Army Brat and a veteran as well. Shout out for the high desert in Cochise County! My most favorite place in the world, just above the Bavarian Alps.

"But how did Arizona EVER allow this person to be Gov?"

Which State keeps re-electing John McCain to the Senate?

“The Secretary seemed, at best at times, reluctant to answer questions.”

Just once I'd like to hear someone say "The Secretary was lying. Under oath. Eric Holder is a liar and lied under oath"

The Dems call us baby killers and lovers of rapists, yet NO ONE will get in front of a camera and call any of them bald faced lairs.

“She did tremendous damage to our state.”

She didn’t do it. The voters did. (And they’ll do it again, nationally, in 2012 when they vote for the Democrats as a reaction to the state-run media’s propaganda efforts at criminalizing anything conservative.)IMHO

@3 - She is a corrupt simpleton/traitor.

As such, she was an ideal partner for the traitorous Cretin-in-Chief and his West Wing Clown Show of Felon/Cretins/Traitors.

There, fixed it.

And we know their hesitancy is not because of libel laws, because John Murtha claimed that the specific Marines who were in Haditha had committed “cold-blooded murder” - yet it was said he could never be charged with slander because Representatives have to be allowed to say whatever they darn well please so that they wouldn’t be afraid to be honest.

Good Lord, are we really that stupid, that we think that license to say anything you want without any threat of prosecution will actually lead to people being HONEST? Our whole system is built upon the idea that honesty in politics comes ONLY from accountability. Yet we shield politicians from LEGAL accountability so that once somebody is elected they can violate any law they want with impunity because nobody in law enforcement will charge them and nobody outside of law enforcement has any authority to charge them with crimes they committed associated with their job.

It was outright slander when John Murtha claimed that the Haditha Marines had committed “cold-blooded murder”. If he had been privy to the audio recordings he would have known that. If he was not privy to the evidence then he was just blowing smoke out his rear again, with reckless disregard for justice for the specific people involved. Either way, he should have been sent to jail for what he said.

In this case, if somebody said that Napolitano and Holder were blatantly lying, there would certainly not be enough evidence to prove them wrong, and plenty of evidence that what they said was justified.

and just exactly WHY do they let an answer like "Not to my knowledge." pass???

they should restate the question and MAKE them answer YES or NO so they are on record.
