Ron Paul Does Not Rule Out A Third-Party Run ( IF RINO Romney gets it ? )

Ron Paul would not pledge to rule out a third-party run for president if he did not get the Republican nod. Paul said he is running for the Republican nomination and to make such an announcement now would undermine his current campaign.

However, Ron Paul hinted several times during the interview that the thought is in his mind. Paul noted that there are more registered Independents than Republicans or Democrats in the state of New Hampshire.

When asked if he would pledge not to run as a third candidate Paul dodged giving a direct answer. "I pledge that I have no intention of doing it," Paul said cheerfully.

"Well, you know, I have to vacillate a little bit in my life," Paul said when pressed more about his opinion. Transcript below.

Bret Baier, host: "So, how about are you big on pledges? Would you pledge here tonight that you would not run in a third party?"

Paul: "I pledge that I have no intention of doing it."

[laughing]

Paul: "I'm running for this Republican primary!"

Baier: "That sounds pretty political, Congressman."

[more laughing]

Paul: "Well, you know, I have to vacillate a little bit in my life."

Charles Krauthammer: "We need a grammarian to work on that sentence."

If RINO Romney get the nomination I predict Paul does go 3rd party and the messiah is a shoe-in for re-election.

I know I would vote for Paul before I would vote for Romney.

If the Rats get nervous enough they may push Hillary on to the ticket with obama. Then it gets even tougher to beat the bum.

.

I'm now convinced that "Dr. Ron Paul" is in this for the MONEY ...

"No Different" than the Rev. Jessee Jackson's corporate financial shakedowns ...

Pure and simple ...

The GOP Elite probably rewarded him with his family with ALLOWING his son to run -- and get elected -- to the U.S. Senate ...

The truth will always come out ...

Gotta milk his last chance at fundraising for as long as he can so he can live off that sweet, sweet PAC money.

I disagree, I think Paul would pull more votes from the left than the right.

I don’t think so.

The Baraqqi Coalition is only about 42% of the electorate, but I don’t think it will change much.

It will either be a landslide loss or a Clintonian plurality win, depending on whether it’s a 2-way or 3-way race.

The devil we know rather than the devil we “think” we know and will no doubt be betrayed by.

I don’t think so. I think the left is firmly indoctrinated to pull the lever for the D. However, if he pulls even a half a percent away from the R who are more fickle, it would be almost a crime.

Don’t be to sure about that. RP is a libertarian nutcase and he attracts a lot of leftists, especially the college ones.

I figure at worst for GOP it would be a wash, at best, a win.

Are you kidding?

If Paul Goes turd party, this thing is a complete loss for our side and a landslide for Obama. No matter who the GOP chooses, it is going to be extremely close again, perhaps another 2000.

He's not. Ron Paul followers are Ron Paul followers - he's not taking Republican votes.

I know I would vote for Paul before I would vote for Romney.

I'll join the folks running FR and many others in supporting a third party before I vote for Romney. Not necessarily Paul though, I'll pick a conservative party I agree with.

If RINO Romney get the nomination, we are screwed anyway because Obama would be a shoe in. Some people would rather go to hell and drag the country with them then to drink the Romney kool-aid.
