Stuck at work meeting quick post, apologies
I get the feeling Rush isn’t happy with any of the candidates....he’s already said a few times, that ANY candidate is 1000% better than Obummer.
Thank you...I am also going to look on his website when today’s show is updated..... I was shocked to hear that statistic.....and i know many of friends will be too....
I think his keyboard must have too many crackercrumbs in it to do much but repeat the last message.
Don’t worry too much about it, it seems to be the only way he/she/it can get attention.
I just made it in to hear some idiotic caller....
We really need the statistics to back up Rush’s statement that wage earners at 50,000 and up are part of the top 10% - that is a HUGE statement. I looked at his transcript - he doesn’t give any reference. That is huge - I posted it on facebook and people are questioning that! Anyone know the details??
I’m really looking forward to it. Haven’t quite figured out what to wear yet. It’s a rather expensive gathering.
i don’t think he said 50 grand - i thought he said something like 350 grand
if you read the transcript (it’s already up on his site), he says that the top 10% starts at $50,000 and that the top 1% starts at $343,000
IIRC, Rush quoted a RANGE of incomes.....between 50K and (approx) 337K that was in that category.
....no, I didn’t hear any citation for it, either.
I made 6 or 8 assertions in my original post, which of those are you accusing me of lying about? That I’ve listened to Rush since the 80’s?
So who IS Huckabee in this scenario? And Guiliani’s torch was going out about this time while Cain’s is JUST GETTING BRIGHTER!!!
I’ve done an exhaustive search on the web to support this and cannot find anything. everything I read says if you make 50,000, you are in the top 50%. If you make 75,000 you are in the top 25% and so on...So, it just doesn’t seem possible that a family making 50,000 could be included in the top 10% - unless he is making the assumption of a household with two incomes at 50,000 each?
The average family income is something like 37K, so I’d bet that 50K is definitely in the top tier...
Now, I wish this damn “alternative energy” dude would just STFU....blablablabla
He must of had some kind of backup to say that....I sent him an email asking him to name a source.....everyone should send an email. That’s a huge statement....one that I want to post on a billboard if it’s true.
Dunno.
Could just be that he’s using the OccuPukes definition for the Top Ten Percent.
Agreed - I’m emailing him too - I posted it on Facebook and people are like WTF?!?
Hummmmm....I wonder?
Here was one that I found:
http://www.financialsamurai.com/2011/04/12/how-much-money-do-the-top-income-earners-make-percent/
Perhaps he meant one of the Top 10 countries with an average per capita income of $47,500.
According to the U.S. Census data, the median household income for 2010 is just over $49K.
So I highly doubt that the assumption that $50K puts you in the top 10%—he must have meant something else.
Quote from Rush:
Do you know what it takes to be in the top 1%? Take a stab. What is it? Top 10%: $50,000 a year or more you are in the top 10% of wage earners. Take a stab at the floor, the minimum income that qualifies to be in the top 1%. Brian, what do you think it is? (interruption) You’re close. He said, “$500,000.” It’s $343,000 a year. If you make $343,000 a year, you are in the top 1%.
