Appearing on Bill O’Reilly’s show last night Governor Rick Perry was critical of the presidential debates, which isn’t surprising given that he’s performed poorly in them for the most part...

Worked for him in Texas, didn’t it?

It might be his best bet.

No need to participate in the debates if you have dropped-out of the race.

A front-runner might be able to get away with not debating, but not a candidate that is down to single digits and in free-fall.

Political suicide.

He would only gain a reputation as someone that runs away from a fight.

I can’t believe that the Republicans have 14 more of these so called debates scheduled!

Most people will see it as conceding defeat.

Agreed. Even floating this idea isn’t going to go over very well. It makes him look cowardly, even if that’s not the real issue. As bad as he’s done in the debates, it just makes him look worse saying he’s not doing them, or even thinking about not doing them.

Smart move on Perry’s part. I wish the other candidates would drop out of them too.

The others should follow suit. This having a debate every time you turn on the TV isn’t helping any one other than Obama.

I absolutely disagree. The country has swung so far left, due to the MMM not giving conservatism a fair shake, that the American people NEED to see what our party stands for and represents. It needs to be said long and often.

It’s free advertising for our cause to have so much airtime, and so much talk nationally following the debates.

The only problem now is that the candidates need to attack Obama and run on ideas, instead of attacking each other and run on anger.

Reagan’s 11th commandment should still be in play. There are more important issues to bring to the national forefront.

Good move by Anita and the Bush RINO advisors Rick has hired. He was embarassing himself up there, brother.

I agree. In Perry’s case, after his performance in previous deabtes, withdrawal will be seen as retreat.

He could offer round-robin to Newt, Romney, Cain, Bachmann, Huntsman. Paint the media as the bad guy, and have no moderators (or a conservative non-office holder/candidate) as moderator. He would do better in that format, and he would look like he was trying to take control.

Newt and Cain have already started with it, and it should help both of them.

“Perry was critical of the presidential debates...”

The larger question, Fred, is why the hell are our candidates going to debates run by left wingers from the pig propaganda press. I don’t care if you’re for Cain, Romney, Perry or Paul, we should not allow the left-wingers to control our primary debates. It’s just damn stupid.

There’s a ton of patriot and conservative media out there where we can run our debates. And if the propaganda media doesn’t cover it, so what. Then they die due to irrelevance.

We took the 2010 elections regardless of the pig media dissension.

WE DON”T NEED THE MSM ANYMORE.

Cain and Gingrich are engaging in a one-on-one debate next week without any moderators. Perry was invited to participate in one-on-one debate with Romney without any moderators. He has so far refused to do so.

I’d go for that. This debate structure is a bad idea gone viral. Let them sit down together in a discussion-group atmosphere. Debate the issues from the standpoint we’re all on the same team. Let the participant with the best ideas and record win.
