A frightened black Labrador puppy was dramatically rescued from the top of a double-decker freight train car by four firefighters, who then delivered her to a new, loving home.
No one knows how the puppy, who appears to be about three months old, ended up on top of the Norfolk Southern train that left Pennsylvania, and had already gone through Virginia and North Carolina on its way to Atlanta. ...
Rowland's team of firefighters was called on Sunday evening after Tina Parker of nearby Pickens spotted the pup while she and her family were stopped at a red light and saw the train pass by. ...
The Parkers named the dog Boxcar Hunter, or Boxy for short. They made an appointment with the veterinarian to have the dog checked, but Mrs Parker said it seems healthy and happy to be off the train. ...
She has two other dogs and the new pup is getting used to her new surroundings....

Maybe the pup was on an overpass, and either fell down on top of the train passing underneath, or was dropped by a piece of lowlife scum, who maybe thought the train would kill the pup but God had other ideas...

Aww, poor thing! So happy she made it all that way without a gruesome accident.
Incidentally, she doesn’t look quite like a proper Lab. White patches - including possibly spotted white like a setter would have. Possibly more of a mutt.

But she was on top of a boxcar. A team of firemen had to get her down.
Forgive me, but do hoboes ride on top of boxcars?

Awwwww...this story made my day. Grinning from ear to ear looking at the pup’s photo.

She has the looks and spotting of my most awesome Spike. His mother was lab and his father St Bernard and collie. Regardless of what they call her, lab mix, she will be a great family member.

Come on, I was sure there’d be some Romney jokes posted here by now.

You’re taking things too seriously.
Hobos generally ride do on the undercarriages if possible - maybe in the freight cars if possible.
Incidentally, boxcars aren’t double-decker. :-) This could’ve been an auto carrier or a double-loaded trailer (truck) underslung flat car.
