WASHINGTON — Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., hailed the death of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi Thursday but chastised Congress for its hesitance to assist anti-Gadhafi Libyan rebels and for criticizing President Barack Obama’s use of U.S. military resources to assist in air strikes.
“I’m very disappointed in Congress,” said Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. “Congress took an irrational view of the War Powers Act. I guarantee you that a lot Republicans who wanted the War Power Act invoked would not have asked for it to be invoked if President Obama were not president. To me, national security should be as bipartisan as possible.”

Let’s say Lindsay is correct that the GOP opposed the Libya mission because Obama was president.
That doesn’t mean their opposition was irrational nor merely political.
If the Commander-in-Chief is a doofus and untrustworthy in both word or deed, if you love this country, you’d better find any way you can to keep him from getting him, and the country, further in over its head.
IOW, if you think the POTUS is incompetent, DOH. You try to keep him out of wars and such as much as possible. This is not being political. It is doing your job to provide a check on dangerous bumblers in the White House.
Graham is not very bright. And your jawboning in this regard is not helpful. In fact, quite the opposite.

I have no love for Moammar, but the fact our”Allies” in this civil war has acted like savages and there is little or no outcry is apalling?

OK - I dislike Lindsay Graham immensely and think Obama is determined to reshape this country as a socialist nation with an all-powerful central government..... BUT
Graham is right on this one - If a Republican president had done this, how many on FR would be celebrating the “success” in Libya?
Keep it up Graham, a lot of people in the GOP have been “very disappointed” in you for a long time, and you just gave them another reason to not like you even more.
Keep it up and your next primary becomes more risky for you.
