Texas Governor Rick Perry lost his cool, lost respect, and lost some supporters in Las Vegas. He might have also lost a prime opportunity to shape his image and get back on top in the race for the GOP nomination.

Don’t go bringing common sense and reality and perspective into this debate. Dont’ you know the deal? The deal is to prove that you HATE MITT THE MOST. That’s the only point to some folks......
I’d much prefer Perry destroy Mitt than win win the nomination.
mitt needs to be destroyed, as long as he is above 20% he is a threat . I say let Perry and Romney destroy each other, it just clears the path for Cain

That’s an interesting take. I suspect others feel that way too. That would probably set up a situation where what.....Cain and maybe a rejeuvenated Newt are in the “semi final” to face a Romney weakened by Perry?
Unless you want Romney to get the nomination, don't worry about how Perry treats the POS.

I respect that opinion, but I don’t think Mitt is really a threat. But you may be right.
I also think those two might destroy each other as you predict - which is foolish if either of them really want to win. I think Perry wants to win, and just has been convinced that he needs to destroy Mitt to do it. I think he’s being misled on how to win. But yes, it might hurt Mitt badly in the process.
I disagree Perry was right to attack mittens over immigration, but he messed up and didn’t mention mittens other immigration weaknesses, like mitt past support of sancturary cities and amnesty, the illegal worker accusation alone was weak, but when combined with the others would have destroyed mitt.

Your deep visceral hatred of Mitt is clouding your ability to comprehend what anyone is saying, not to mention the point of the article. I am not concerned at all about hurting Mitt’s feelings and I understand that politics “aint beanbag.” That is not the point.
The point I am making, as someone who likes Perry, is that he did indeed hurt himself because of how it made Perry look - and it has nothing to do with the impact on Romney. You, like Perry, seem obsessed with Romney and I think it’s hurting both of your arguments.
Again, I like Perry. I think it is awful strategy. Period.
Beneath you, marty60, and a cheap, dirty shot.
Members here, who happen to be Mormon, like Jeff Head and this member DO NOT SUPPORT Romney!
You do your candidate Governor Perry or this forum no favors with comments like yours.
I strongly suggest that you start posting like that marty60, I thought I knew.
Perry is very important to the race at this point since he destroys mittens and himself every time he opens his mouth, its important to keep mittens below 20% and perry in the single digits, for Cain to win decisively

Amen and pass the plate. I’ve seen him (or her) attack EVERYONE in politics BUT OBAMA lately. Perry’s problem is not Mitt or Cain or anyone else but his losing focus on beating Obama and liberalism. THAT is killing Perry.
A president Romney would be the worst thing that could happen, he would cause even more damage than Obama because many republicans in congress would go along with his proposals just because he has an R after his name.
a Romney presidency would lead to a massive loss for republicans in the 2014 congressional election.
But that will never happen because Romney will never win because 20%+ of republicans have said in a recent poll that they would never vote for a Mormon president, and in a time where 5% is considered a landslide victory no one can win when 20% of their supports stay home. Thus a vote for Romney in the primaries is a vote for Obama.
It is the unwarranted sliming of Perry that bothers me. It just seemed to convienient after that idiot minister caused all this BS about religion.
But yet Romney brought it up AGAIN in the LV debate.
Religion (other than Islamofascist) is not an issue for me. Getting America back to the great nation we once were is the issue for me.
Jeff knows I prayed for him everyday.
What am I suppose to think “In Rocking Romney, Perry self-Destructs”
You have known me long enough to know I harbor no ill will against anyones religion (except Islamofascist). However I am REALLY PO’d at Jeffress or what ever his name is.
I’m sorry Onyx, you are right, I should have said nothing.
You’re right, C. Edmund Wright, and unless or until, Governor Perry gets his debate skills ramped up, he’s the last one of our four who I want to see debate The Won.
He would get killed, even by the stammering Marxist without his teleprompter. Perry comes across unprepared and mean, when in fact, he’s a very likeable guy in person.
Right now, I am pulling for NEWTer THE WHITE HOUSE 2012 and HERMAN CAIN! I also like Michele Bachmann, too.
I’ve seen nails put into Perry’s coffin before...who is the GOP establishment and the left most afraid of? Articles like this gives a great perspective of who that is-—RICK PERRY. Since, you obviously live in Texas then you know Perry never does well in early polls or debates and he still wins.
Jefferess? went after Romney the same way the last time he ran. This didn't have a damn thing to do with Rick Perry.
Romney is a scumbag for even bringing it up. Perry had nothing to apologize for.
Gee, that’s funny, most everyone I know is talking about it and they LOVED it. After years of drab, wishy washy leadership we have someone who was able to give back better then he got.
I know Perry didn’t. That is want po’d me.
To use Perry to make his OWN personal attack on Romnuts was just plain wrong.
