PASADENA, Md., Sept. 21, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Katherine Cesinger, State Press Director, RickPerry.org, Inc., says, re: Governor Rick Perry's position on abortion: "His position has been consistent on this. Gov. Perry is pro-life, with exceptions for rape, incest and life of the mother."
In response, Michael Anthony Peroutka, co-founder with his brother Steve of "Institute On The Constitution" (TheAmericanView.com), has issued the following statement:

As I have always said, Reagan was great. But he was not perfect.
Really. This is horrible to read. Do you have a sourcem please? What was the name of the candidate? Thanks
Cain has never DONE anything regarding abortion. Perry has a list of pro-life accomplishments.
In the end, the pro-life movement looks for accomplishments, not rhetoric. Anybody can say they are pro-life, but too many won’t take action.
Cain had a chance to take this segment of the voting population, but between his Stossel interview, the Morgan disaster, and his non-clarification clarification that STILL can’t say “I’ll support a law to make abortion illegal”, he’s pretty much got the pro-life movement scratching their heads.
The pro-life movement understands political realities, better than most. We are looking to save millions of lives, and we know what steps need to be taken. It’s unfortunate that our candidates are so muddled on the issue, but if they will pass the laws that need to be passed, and appoint the judges we need to be appointed, the cause will be advanced, and lives will be saved.
Perry has saved lives in Texas. Few candidates can say that.
Tadah, no one is.
Reagan was close. :)
“As I have always said, Reagan was great. But he was not perfect.
Agreed. Nice to know we all do the best we can. His reasons for arriving at that conviction were thoughtful and reasoned. I respect him for it.
The question is, do you or do you not believe that life begins at conception. And if you do, do you or do you not believe that abortion is murder- regardless of circumstance?
Exactly. What’s the saying about the “perfect being the enemy of the good”?
Doesn’t suprise me at all. He is moderate at best. At the least he is George Bush redux. Bush was advocate for illegals, against abortion except for rape and inceast, compassionate conservative.....such similarities. But who cares. Perry is dead in the water.
See, you trust Perry. I don’t.
You’re right, who compound a crime with another crime, rape and incest are crimes, and so is murder. If Perry can’t see this then he’s just another politician pandering to what he thinks is politically expedient. Perry is just not a choice worth considering.
Bush 2.0, the primary reason the left is crossing their fingers Perry gets the nod.
I would add; what about an ectopic pregnancy? That is much more common than a pregnancy as the result of rape or incest; about 1% to 2% or more of all pregnancies.
With very, very rare exceptions, ectopic pregnancies are not viable. For the mother it is a life threatening complication due to hemorrhaging and if not treated properly in the first trimester; presuming the pregnancy does not terminate naturally, i.e. a miscarriage before being diagnosed, not terminating the pregnancy surgically and early will lead to the almost certain death of the mother with a zero chance of the fetus surviving. And if there is no intervention and the mother doesnt hemorrhage to death, the damage to the fallopian tube can often lead to infertility.
I had a friend who went through this. It was a horrible dilemma and deeply painful and heart wrenching decision for her and her husband (both very religious and pro-life) to make but after consulting with their OBY and even getting a second opinion from a very highly respected high-risk OBY and considering their two year old son being without his mother, they terminated the pregnancy, one which never had any chance to come to term.
Two years later this same couple gave birth to a healthy daughter and three years later to a healthy son. Had they not terminated the ectopic pregnancy, the husband would have lost his wife, their oldest son would have lost his mother and their two other children would have never been born.
It was a tough decision to be sure, but one that I wouldnt want a politician or bureaucrat to make for them or me, any more than I would want a politician or bureaucrat to make the decision to force the termination of the pregnancy.
Sometimes such a decision really is between the woman (and hopefully the father) and her doctor.
In a case such as this, I do not consider it an abortion as I do a life saving operation.
Ill probably be flamed also. Have at it.
I’d say that murder was wrong.
I think it is more appropriate to call this position 99% pro-life than to call it pro-choice.
I am pro life, and those are acceptable exceptions, IMHO.
And that, ladies and gentleman is why this phony outrage has been posted. RITENSE detests Rick Perry.
I do believe Life Begins at Conception.
Perry will appoint judges who believe the same. He has already stated this fact.
It’s not a perfect world, dear. Thank for calling me dear.
I will not smear a candidate that can do great things for America. One who does believe in our Founding Fathers. These are our pickins dear, not a huge choice there buddy. I choose, Perry or Cain. If Cain can hold his own. I don’t know enough about him yet.
Perry does NOT advocate abortion. He will not be pushing for it for sure as a goal and will appoint judges against it. I believe he can give us some freedom back. Beats the evil we are facing now. So keep beating up a good guy. So who is your winning candidate?
Perry is simply WRONG on this, and you Perrywinkles going after Cain shows what hypocrites you are.
THAT'S why I posted it.
