American students now pledge allegiance to Mexico. They sing its na- tional an- them. And it is sanctioned by the state of Texas. Sound absurd? It is. Last month in a Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas, students recited the Mexican pledge of allegiance and were instructed to memorize the Mexican anthem. Moreover, they had to wear red, white and green - the colors of the Mexican flag - as they fulfilled their class assignment. Public high schools no longer promote American patriotism, but they are doing a superb job of cultivating loyalty to Mexico.
Sophomore Brenda Brinsdon refused to participate. I just thought it was out of hand; I didnt think it was right, she told the Blaze, which first reported the story. Reciting pledges to Mexico and being loyal to it has nothing to do with learning Spanish.
Shes right. When she complained, however, to the schools principal, Yvette Cavazo, Miss Brinsdon was told it was part of the curriculum. According to Texas state education standards, students must acquire knowledge of foreign cultures and use language to enhance their understanding.
The students came away with a better understanding of the culture, heritage and customs of a neighboring country where Spanish is the primary language, school district spokesman Mark May said.
This is treasonous; American students are being indoctrinated to revere and pledge their loyalty to a foreign government. Such is the logical consequence of multiculturalism and modern liberalism.
For decades, spending on public education has soared. America spends more per capita than almost any other country in the West. The results: On international test scores, U.S. students continually lag behind their European and Asian counterparts, especially on math and science. Many students who graduate from high school are barely literate....

I will never forget him saying that, and especially how he said it. Seems like I’m not the only one.
Precisely. If my national loyalties resided elsewhere, then elsewhere is where I’d be. The U.S. would be immeasurable improved if all commies moved to commie countries, all jihadists moved to nations where sharia law is the law of the land, and all those whose loyalties lie with their nation of origin went back where they came from. But nope, they’re dead intent on staying here ruining the greatest country in the history of the world.
I’ve heard this story line before. Hmmmm, now where did I read this before.
Ya know, there is a noted FReeper who wrote something on this subject...
What's his name?
Absolutely, good post. A lot of Mexican-Americans don't understand what you posted. What are Mexicans? Some Mexican friends of mine were far prouder of their Yaqui indian heritage than being from Mexico, and still spoke their native language (more so than spanish). The Mexicans think they want to retake California, but they never really had it. The Spanish did. And the Spanish left behind in California became willing Americans. Mexicans today are a confused lot.
Bush (the recent, not sure about his father), McCain, Rove, and Perry have all spoke at La Raza Councils...I may have missed someone, seems many so called conservative politicians think La Raza is a legitimate organization and doesn’t mind all their radical undermining of our country.
I did have the order of McCain and Rove mixed up- I knew Rove spoke to La Raza, just didn’t remember when he did it.
South Africa we’re catching up to ya.
I'm not worried about Cain beating Obama. We just have to nominate Cain, and he will be the next President. I do have faith that he understands the obvious problem that illegal immigration presents just like everyone else, and he's not the typical career politician who's going to follow the typical do nothing attitude on illegal immigration. He is going to do something about it.
Cain understands that illegal immigration is one reason a good percentage of people are supporting him, and I think he cares about why people are putting him in office and will work to please us by getting his common sense policies enacted. Not only that, but he will get our economy back on track with those same common sense policies.
I believe he understands we want something new, and not just anyone but Obama, but something better than the Republicans we have had. Cain is a solid Conservative on every issue. He is a true Conservative who's not afraid to take on illegal immigration without concern for Mexico's corrupt government when it comes to our border. I think Cain will respond to their arrogant and ridiculous verbal attacks to defend himself and the citizens of his country who have done nothing wrong.
Herman Cain is a regular guy who tells it the way it is, and who many can relate to. He isn't the politician who is always in acting mode and trying to be everything to everyone. He knows some things are just stupid and wrong like liberalism, no different than a normal person knows. He has the education and real world experience to show he's a very intelligent man who can manage with success. He can learn quickly and isn't a liar who pretends to know everything. He will have good advisers, and will and listen to those he has respect for, such as those who may be in his government like John Bolton.
I'm sick of seeing Romney and Perry all over the place as if Perry is a front runner. They are so afraid of Cain they just show Romney and Perry arguing making it look like Perry isn't basically out of the race when he is. They want Romney to get the nomination as bad as the establishment Republicans do. They don't want to have to depend on black liberals to play the race card against Cain who isn't afraid to respond quickly making them look stupid. We will see guys like Biden, even though he's not going Obamas VP pick again, saying some of the most racist things as well considering he's stupid and has brain damage.
“According to Texas state education standards, students must acquire knowledge of foreign cultures and use language to enhance their understanding.”
Funny how they intermix the terms of “Knowledge” and “Understanding” with just plain “learning”...
Instead, they MUST AQUIRE that knowledge and cultural understanding, with a state wide forced cirriculum...
Somewhere these people are laughing their azzes off at us for allowing this nonsense to get this far...
Af, but of course you know ole Ricky habla’s pretty well for our governor...Can you see Bill White trying to “relate” to us in the same way...
I don’t habla a lot, but I can get by in a pinch if I have to...I was told by my wife though to NOT ever pinche’ at all under no circumstances...That could be disasterous...hehehe
To paraphrase Earl Butz, “You no-a speak-a the language, you no-a make-a the rules.”
Suzy, don't you believe it. The Mexican population of California in the 1840's was in the 5,000 range. There was a somewhat larger mestizo population centered about the missions, the offspring of the few soldiers and the mission Indians.
More Mexicans entered California illegally last year than ever entered in all the years as a Mexican (or Spanish) possession. The best picture of pre-gold-rush California, IMHO? It's in Dana's classic, "Two Years Before the Mast."
There were so few settlers in California, that at one time The Czar was considering grabbing it for Russia.
