Bin Laden Photos Too Sensitive, DOJ Argues
WallStreetJournal ^ | Sept. 28, 2011 | Nathan Koppel

You can’t have ‘em.

That, in effect, is what the government asserted in a court brief yesterday, responding to a suit that seeks the release of photos of the deceased Osama bin Laden.

News organizations and other advocacy groups have pushed for months for the photos, citing citing the Freedom of Information Act.

Justice Department attorneys said the CIA has located 52 photographs and video recordings of bin Laden during the May raid that killed him, but the DOJ contends the images are classified and being withheld from the public to avoid inciting violence against Americans overseas and compromising secret systems and techniques used by the CIA and the military, according to this AP report.

The above article, dated @3 weeks ago, looks even more like the BS it is, in light of today's events. I will always wonder if the killing of OBL actually took place this past May. Even if photos were produced at this point, they could be altered/photo-shopped, etc.

“It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence. As a propaganda tool. You know, that’s not who we are. You know, we don’t trot out this stuff as trophies,” Obama said. “We don’t need to spike the football.”

Mmmm, hmmmm....

But for some reason photos of the dead Khadaffi are just fine, and won’t inflame Muslim radicals. What am I missing?

Not like those pictures of the hero's caskets being flown into Delaware when Bush was president.

Those had to be made public, no matter what the traditions of what was "too sensitive."

Obama said. “We don’t need to spike the football.”

Obama not only loves spiking the football, he showboats in the most uppity manner possible all the way to the end zone. ...just like a typical mentally unstable wide receiver.

I’d like the pictures of Brian Terry’s murder scene released so we can find the third firearm traced right back to the Department of Justice, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and President Obama.

Gosh, do you think Obama might have to relinquish the Peace Prize if those photos got out? How about the graphic pic of Qaddafi? Nah, Obama can do whatever he wants and he will still get accolades all over the world because he is destroying the USA.

Actually I couldn’t care less about the consequences of Obama showing the dead Osama. Even if it makes the Islamic world mad. (When are they NOT mad?) It would show the world me mean business and this is what you get when you kill our citizens. If Obama gets credit, so what? We PAID for those photos of Osama with our soldier’s blood.

Meanwhile Hillary is laughing on camera about Quaddafi being executed in the street.

“We came, we saw, he died.”

Sounds like cowboy diplomacy.

Many of us older folks remember the WWII Newsreels shown at the movie theater kids’ Saturday matinee cowboy movies...lots of soldiers and civilians dead, blown up, blood and guts, flies crawling all over the place. The real thing...not Hollywood actors.

He's been under Tora Bora for lo these many years.

It was safe for Zero to pretend to get him to divert the news cycle from Jerry Corsi's birth certificate book.

If they didn’t have a problem releasing those photos of American GI’s torturing those prisoners - they should not have a problem releasing the OBL photos and videos. But.......
Oh yeah, he’s been dead since December 12, 2001.

Obama is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaysTVcounI

I still think Bin Laden’s corpse is burried under tons of rocks at Tora Bora.

You're missing the fact that it was Navy Seals who took the video and photos of a dead OBL, as opposed to Libya where it was whoever in the crowd had a cell phone with a camera handy.

Gotcha, but don’t you find it interesting that OBL’s could not be released and Daffy’s CAN? Interesting.
