Thursday, October 20, 2011

Reflecting national trends, businessman Herman Cain has now jumped to the front of the Republican pack in Iowa.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Iowa caucus-goers shows that Cain is in front with 28% followed by former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney at 21%. Congressman Ron Paul is a distant third at 10% followed by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich at 9%, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann at 8%, and Texas Governor Rick Perry at 7%. The sixth place finish for Perry is a sharp decline from early September when Perry was the frontrunner both nationally and in Iowa.

Well, I know the POTUS assigns the the Treasury Chief but who assigns the FED Chairman?

Let me ask this question: which post would be in a better position to reestablish the gold or precious metal or some other standard for the dollar? THAT's where I'd like to see Ron Paul.

I don’t approve of it but what right do I have to stop someone else from doing it? Certainly not the right of government to interfere. Where is the fallacy in this position?

The fallacy is that someone's life is being terminated. Their right to Life is being taken from them without due process according to our Constitution. They have no say in being murdered. Do you think the State should have the right to outlaw murder? It was outlawed for a long time rightly so. Now it isn't which is in direct contrast to the Natural Law therefore it makes it an unjust law.

Secondly, I don't think Cain's position is what you think it is when he says quite clearly that life begins at conception.

Abortion is murder.

The most viscious, cowardly murder possible, and murder for hire too.

You have no clue whatsoever.

“obama had that effect on people also, don’t forget.”

You are comparing apples to oranges... hahaha had to say that.

I don’t worship the guy or think he is infallible, but I am probably voting for him over anyone else that is running. The only other candidate I have not ruled out is Perry, but the fact that he can’t form a sentence at times makes me nervous. If he builds on the comment about getting out of the UN, I’ll keep him on my list of 2.

MORGAN: Abortion. What’s your view of abortion?

CAIN: I believe that life begins at conception. And abortion under no circumstances. And here’s why —

MORGAN: No circumstances?

CAIN: No circumstances.

MORGAN: Because many of your fellow candidates — some of them qualify that.

CAIN: They qualify but —

MORGAN: Rape and incest.

CAIN: Rape and incest.

MORGAN: Are you honestly saying — again, it’s a tricky question, I know.

CAIN: Ask the tricky question.

MORGAN: But you’ve had children, grandchildren. If one of your female children, grand children was raped, you would honestly want her to BRING UP THAT BABY ON HER OWN?

CAIN: You’re mixing two things here, Piers

Understand your point. But he is one of the people up on that stage — and I don’t exactly know the depth of character of some of the others. From what I see so far, though, Cain has it in buckets. I’m not sure than any of the others have endured what he has endured. Really? I mean — do you think they have? I think most came from middle-class to highly priviledged backgrounds.

I believe he has many other qualities, along with this very important one, that WOULD make him a great president.

American Pimp:
"Milt Romney's recent collapsing loss to Mr Cain
in the 2012 Iowa Republican Caucus (Cain 28% Romney 21%)

means as little as Romney's plummeting career-ending loss to Mr. Cain
in the Newsmax poll (71% to 7% for Myth)
,
or Milt's shocking loss to Herman Cain in the PPP poll ,
or Milt's incredible 3 to 1 devastating loss to Herman Cain in Florida
or Romney's third place hopeless loss to Mr. Cain in the Presidential Straw Poll
of National Federation of Republican Women, or
even Romney's humiliating loss to Mr. Cain
in the October Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage poll,
or Romney's exsanguinating loss to Cain in the
Midwest Leadership Conference Straw Poll.
At the end of the the day, this will not matter to FOX News.
No way.
By the nasty imp of McGinniss and Ailes,
you can just bet your life that we at FOX News will FOREVER pimp
... our Milt Romney as THE "leading candidate"
… even when you know it is obviously not true.

Want to add to my last point, about character.

How many of our presidents here in the last few years could be described as true men of character? Other than Ronald Reagan.

Bush’s? Gimme a break. Clinton?

Carter, had some ...but mostly wasted it on liberalthink.

Going back ...to Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy?

Character DOES count. Many presidents of the past have had it “in buckets” as does Cain. I wonder if it isn’t the ONE thing that really counts most of all?

Can’t we make him Secretary of Great Stories, or loveable people not ready for prime time.

He can tell a great stem winder, has great character, and certainly, when compared to perry, is miles ahead in most aspects.

I agree that perry is better at GIVING TAX MONEY TO ILLEGAL ALIENS, and has spent almost all of his life at the taxpayer's teat {not withstanding the fact that he is the son of tenant farmers}.

Perry would get slaughtered in a head to head debate with the obummer, hell, perry'd have a hard time beating my 9 year old grand daughter.

Mr. Cain’s attitude regarding abortion matches mine. I don’t approve of it but what right do I have to stop someone else from doing it?

I’m “pro-choice” only in that I believe the voters of each state should have the CHOICE of how to vote to establish their own state’s abortion laws.

You have no basis for your claim that Perry is giving money to illegals.

If you are referring to the instate college tuition issue, that has been explained a hundred times, why should I expect you to listen to the 101st time? I won’t bother.

Why do Cain’s heartwarming ‘I started from nothing’ stories warm your heart while Perry’s stories of a hard, early life offend you?

Not very consistent.

Let me educate you a little on illegal aliens.

I do not condone illegals. They are lawbreakers. But they are here because they would rather live in the United States than in Mexico. So would I.

They are here because we (not Perry) but the entire government for years, made it easy for them to get in and hard to get them out.

The children they brought along or had after they got here should not be held reponsible in my opinion unless you think the sins of the fathers should be passed on from generation to generation.

There is not real possibility of getting rid of illegals now unless they commit a crime. Even then the Obama administration has stopped its ICE people from deporting.

I want it to be when the ICE man cometh he has an eviction order, not a welcome mat. And this is for people who commit crimes even it it’s driving without a license.

But the children who came with their parents who are receiving the benefit of in-state (not free) tuition must meet requirements. They must have graduated high school and be on the road to applying for citizenship. Do you honestly want to shoot or electrocute these kids?

I’m no bleeding heart, in fact I’m mean as a snake, but we need to face the current situation realistically.

If you have some proof that Perry is giving tax money to illegals, well, for heaven’s sake, post it.
