There is a lot of oil pumped in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, all around this area. Do you have a map of where the refineries are? How much do each state produce? Who owns the gas stations?

Here is some good information but a little misleading.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/saudigas.asp

There is a list of those that do not import Arab oil. Citco is on the list but it imports Venezuelan oil.

Here is some good bad information but a little very misleading.

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo.......................0 barrels
Sunoco.................0 barrels
Conoco.................0 barrels
Sinclair.....................0 barrels
BP/Phillips............0 barrels
Hess........................0 barrels
ARCO.......................0 barrels

We know Citgo imports.

ARCO no longer exists, they were bought by BP. Phillips was never part of BP, they joined with Conoco.

Sunoco imports from: ANGOLA, AZERBAIJAN, CAMEROON, CANADA, NIGERIA, NORWAY and SPAIN.

ConocoPhillips imports from: ANGOLA, CANADA, CHILE, CONGO, ECUADOR, GERMANY, IRAQ, SOUTH KOREA, MEXICO, NIGERIA, RUSSIA, SAUDI ARABIA, UNITED KINGDOM and VENEZUELA

Sinclair only imports from Canada.

Hess imports from: ESTONIA, ARUBA, ALGERIA, RUSSIA, CANADA, SPAIN, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO and VIRGIN ISLANDS.

You get the point?

On top of that, most gasoline station do not only buy gasoline from their own refineries, some of the don't even own refineries. Often a 3rd party will own a pipeline and deliver the product to meet the spec without a guarantee where it came from.

Those types of emails are pure garbage.

Which Emails are you referring to? I have not seen any emails.

So If I buy form those that do not import form terrorists nations or owned buy terrorist supporters I will not be supporting terrorist countries. The money will stay the fuel company and not go to the terrorist countries. If I buy form Sinclair I may even got some Wyoming Gas. Not every dorp of gas is from foreign countries.

You linked to a web site that said this information was from old emails that continue to circulate at least 10 years after it was created.

If you buy from Sinclair in Colorado or any other gasoline station in Colorado, you will usually be getting fuel made from North American oil.

If you buy from Sinclair in Southern California, I guarantee some of that fuel was refined from Middle East oil.

Sinclair, and essentially every oil/gasoline company treats each division as a separate unit. Oil refined in a Sinclair refinery does not only go to a Sinclair gasoline station. And Sinclair gasoline stations do not only use Sinclair refineries, as do most all companies in most areas.

I've been on the design team for refined products truck loading stations. The same gasoline/diesel from multiple refineries will often be mixed in the same tanks, it just has to meet the ASME specification for quality. As each truck is loaded, a small amount of the specific company (BP, Shell, etc) additive is squirted in to make it "theirs".

It is normal at these truck loading stations, regardless of who owns them, to have a line of tanks each containing specific company's different additive. In rural areas, typically every different gasoline station is using the gasoline loaded at on or two different truck loading stations. They just add different additives. The EPA now requires all USA gasoline to have some injector cleaner and the like. If it is a no-name brand like sold at Wal-Mart, it will just use the generic additive.

Often these stations and refineries are not even near the same pipeline or market.

But I can assure you that the pipelines that connect Gulf Coast Refineries to Colorado Truck Loading Stations wasn't built because it was never used or needed.
