The Mitt Romney camp, which launched an anti-Rick Perry website, careerpolitician.com, on Tuesday, unveiled a new Web ad this afternoon that is, essentially, a collection of the Texas governor's worst moments from the GOP presidential debates he's participated in since joining the race in August.
The Romney campaign announced the new video, titled "Ready to Lead?" on Facebook by asking followers "Do you think Governor Perry would be able to challenge President Obama in a debate?"
The video includes footage from Mr. Perry's performance in Tuesday night's Las Vegas debate, which most observers agreed was the governor's strongest.

Debates more than a year outside of an election do not decide a candidates future.
Well considering that the first primary is 75 days from now, I think the debates are very important. I think FREEPERS here think that the first primary starts in November 2012.....no. That is when it is all over and the next President is elected.
Hey, CW! I do not dislike Rick Perry. We all have our bad moments, for no one is perfect. Ir’s the mean spiritedness of Perry FReeprs (And you are the exception)that I object to. I thank you for breaking the article down for me. Because of my M.D. it is tiring to have to read my computer through a magnifying glass. And it is always a mark of distinction to be asked to serve on a board of directors of any organization. Herman Cain succeeds in rising to the top pf everything he becomes involved with.

Perry's military aviation service is commendable, but you attach way too much significance to it. By your standard, George McGovern should have been made POTUS by acclamation.
BTW: Yes I have served in the military. Yes I have flown airplanes (OK helicopters). No, I have not, like Ann Richards or Rick Perry, been Governor of Texas.
I have no hero worship and simply put up some of Perry’s service background. Do any of the other candidates have such a service backgroud? If so post it.
Perry’s military service simply means he served his country and did so honorably as far as I can tell. This was completed before he ever entered politics.
I see that he serves honorably as a governor of the State of Texas, even in the face of much opposition from the federal government on his border policy and has been harassed by Obamas EPA as a direct result,yet he has remained staunch, and can see no reason he would not serve with honor as president.
If you have this evidence on any other candidate indicating honorable service, please post it.

No crap sherlock. It will be Cain. One of three conservatives running this election season....Cain, Bachmann and Santorum. Cain is the strongest of the three and will win the nomination. The liberals Romney and Perry are a waste of time.
Cain has a pretty impressive background, and is the best stumper.....He needs money and if he is gonna make it, he has to raise a lot fast.Thats where we can come in.
Cain did serve our nation as a mathematician in the US Dept. of Navy, doing research into external ballistics, and he has explained how his local Atlanta Draft board ordered him to continue working for the Navy instead of being submitted for the draft during the Vietnam War.He did present himself to his local draft board.
Cain is weak on foreign policy but he could be up to speed very quickly given his intellectual capacity.
What concerns me is that there is little accurate information on the details of Cain’s biography, his work with the Navy is barely mentioned and he left that job when he was 27 but there is no clear picture on how long he worked there.Perhaps that will change over the next while, what I have been able to read about Cain seems to be cobbled together. I would like a more clear picture on his multifaceted background. He appears to be a Renaissance Man, talented in many fields.
If you’re looking for a Cain hater, talk to someone else. Almost everything the news is screaming about concerning these pols is silly. Do we have to have our funeral manners on all the time?

I am surprised that people would say this because the ad against Perry shows distain for Obama and Perry both for ignoring the facts. Watch the ad. It is compelling.
The fact is, George Bush would not respond on attacks on him. Mitt Romney would and he wouldn’t hold anything back. He would trade nasty for nasty and his ability to make Perry look like a loser is an example of what he can do.
Good luck with that strategy. I am not and never will be a Romney supporter...sorry. If somehow he gets the nod..I will do the same thing I did with McCain...spend my time going after Obama...not supporting Romney.
