Via Greg Hengler and Guy Benson, if this answer doesnt destroy him, nothing will. I get the sense watching it that hes so unsure of how to answer this exceedingly easy question that he defaults to Netanyahus position on the assumption that prisoner swaps must always be the wise, statesmanlike, conservative thing to do. The alternative, that he knows what hes talking about yet is still sincerely inclined to release the guy who planned 9/11 plus dozens upon dozens of other jihadi fanatics in exchange for one G.I., is even worse. Id bet 95 percent of people asked on the street could answer this correctly, yet somehow our frontrunner not only blows it but feels obliged to hedge weakly by noting that hed need all the facts to make a proper decision. Heres a fact: Khaled Sheikh Mohammed blew up the World Trade Center. What other facts do you need?

I figured as much when I saw Allahpundit’s name on it. He’s another Charles Johnson waiting to happen.

So let Islamofascist Terrorist that probably have the blood of American Soldiers go for one POW? And history has shown that those released have gone right back to AQ etc.
Couldn’t he find ANOTHER way to get a POW back.

This is no big deal. America has had prisoner swaps in prior wars, cold wars and hot wars. The Israelis have also had numerous prisoner swaps prior to Shalit.

Yes, you be flat out stupid, he did not say that they be living, and neither did he say they would be living a week later. I would turn them lose for one GI as well, but I would also guarantee they would be as cold as perrys gate rock a few days later.

"this is why I respect Benjamin Netanyahu so much, he looks at all the facts before he makes a judgement call"
I want a president that will do this. It is about time we had someone who will do this instead of jerking all of us off. Note the word RESPECT!!!! Obama respects no one, absolutely no one...A pol that will respect the voter and other leaders that are fighting for the very lives of their citizens.
I am going to attempt to be kind with what I am about to say, that is a little tough for ole fred, but I will try. v Y'all don't even have a clue on how you pay taxes. I am shocked at how so many have no idea of what they are paying. The 999 debate clearly shows this.
So before y all get too worked up over these statements made in this interview, demonstrate that you have a clue about your own business, enough with talking about Israel.
I never use a flame suit....

If he had "smart" people around him, NOW, he wouldn't keep on saying stupid things! So where are all of your "smart people", on break?
Making leaping assumptions based off something he did not say and you didn't have the good sense to check out for yourself, would be classified as incredibly stupid, Stu Ped.

Agree. But, how without a miracle, could that happen? Have we ever had a candidate that rose from the ashes of the Primaries without going through the process and get the nomination at the National Convention? If she is drafted after or near the end of the Primaries, how could she overcome the conventional processes?

Get ready for more of the same. The press is going to let fly at Cain with a hundred of these gotcha questions before the primaries (while blowing rose petals at the ‘rats?).
To: Lou Budvis
Cain clearly stated that "I COULD SEE MYSELF MAKING THAT KIND OF CALL", he did not say HE WOULD MAKE THIS CALL...
So if y all want to become the tool of rinos and for pete's sake CNN go right ahead...just makes you look like a poster on the huffpo or DU.

Everybody calm down. Listen to what Cain actually said before passing judgement, rather than what this article’s summary of what he said is.
It’s only 1 min 23 seconds. Listen to Cain before posting here:
http://hotair.com/archives/2011/10/18/herman-cain-sure-i-can-see-myself-releasing-everyone-at-gitmo-in-exchange-for-one-u-s-pow/
He didn’t say he would release everyone at Gitmo.
The question posed to him was “Could you see yourself making that kind of call.” Cain’s answer was yes, in the sense that Presidents are called upon to make tough decisions - tough judgment calls — and he was saying he could make a judgement call if he had to. But he would need to know allll of the information, allll the input, considered allll of the options, but then the President has to be the President, and make that call.
There’s way too much reaction to these articles without people listening to Cain’s words directly. Trust, but verify. Listen to the video.

Herman Cain: Sure, I can see myself releasing everyone at Gitmo in exchange for one U.S. POW What this says to me is that the return of a single U. S. POW is priceless compared to the vermin out there.
The details of how many to exchange, how many are notorious terrorists, etc. remain to be worked. But the main message is to be willing to take extraordinary measures to free our own servicemen. Our citizens are not disposable IMO.
