Obama: Occupy Wall Street ‘Not That Different’ From Tea Party Protests
ABC News ^ | 10/18/2011 | Devin Dwyer

Posted on 10/18/2011 2:31:18 PM PDT by Qbert

President Obama, who has become a target of the Occupy Wall Street protests sweeping the country, today embraced the economic frustration voiced on the streets and said in an exclusive interview with ABC News that his vision for the U.S. economic system is best suited to resolve protesters’ concerns.

“I understand the frustrations being expressed in those protests,” Obama told ABC News senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper in the interview to air this evening on ABC News “Nightline” from Jamestown, N.C.

“In some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party.  Both on the left and the right, I think people feel separated from their government. They feel that their institutions aren’t looking out for them,” he said.

Obama said the most important thing he can do as president is express solidarity with the protesters and redouble his commitment to achieving what he described as a more egalitarian society. “The most important thing we can do right now is those of us in leadership letting people know that we understand their struggles and we are on their side, and that we want to set up a system in which hard work, responsibility, doing what you’re supposed to do, is rewarded,” Obama said. “And that people who are irresponsible, who are reckless, who don’t feel a sense of obligation to their communities and their companies and their workers that those folks aren’t rewarded.”

Obama alluded to his American Jobs Act, which would be funded in part by raising taxes on wealthier Americans and some corporations in order to make them pay “their fair share.”

He will continue to encourage the OWS people. If by next October it still looks like he cannot win re-election, watch for him to attempt to impose martial law. Not saying he will, but judging from his behavior so far, it would not be much of a stretch of the imagination to see it happen.

Yeah, sure, what’s a little public defecation and a handful of anti-Semitic slurs among friends?

Yes, I thought about that after I said what I said...however - his statement “They feel that their institutions aren’t looking out for them” does not reflect Tea Party issues...so I guess I should have said that and also added “...and he knows it”.

What’s going to happen is this: if Obama continues to lose ground, despite the total warfare declared by the MSM against conservatives (I’m seeing this starting just these past few weeks - the MSM is going all out to elect their fraud in chief) the bankrolling by the far left is going to go to encouraging civil unrest in the form of race riots.

We already see it happening in “flash mobs”. I am convinced the MSM is going to do all it can to gin up true racial hatred. THEN we may see martial law, and the “race card” will be employed to try and shut up anyone critical of Obama in a way that would have been unthought of in America’s Golden Age.

"He doesn’t know nor does he care to know the first thing about America’s ‘Taxed Enough Already’ people."

Yep. This is coming from the same POTUS who called Tea Party supporters, "Teabaggers", after all, and demonized them at every opportunity the past two years.

He's just trying to do his "reasonable guy in the middle" shtick here (by attempting to exploit people he loathes). Lame.

It’s the two Americas on display. I suggest spending an afternoon with each group before deciding which values best reflect your own. If filth and thieves appeal to you, go with the fleabaggers. If wholesome patriotism and honesty suits you, go with the Tea Party.

Which is?

Yep- this coming from a guy whose biggest supporters are the 47% of Anericans who pay absolutely nothing in income taxes.

"In some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party."

If we actually had an independent, objective MSM, they would question him and every member of the regime about this each and every day until November, 2012.

Alas, since the MSM is BHO's PR firm, this outrageous lie (one of countless...) will go un-addressed.

No wonder the country is in such a mess.

This guy has no powers of discernment.

He probably heard some time in the past that discrimination was bad. But you need to be discriminating to tell the difference between good and evil.

““In some ways, they’re not that different from some of the protests that we saw coming from the Tea Party. “

Yeah, except the TEA Party isn’t made up of a bunch of communist, cowardly traitors who don’t deserve to live in this country.

I’m pretty sure that this is the same guy who called me a racist. And a bitter clinger. FUBO.
