Herman Cain says the Democrats he has supported in the past were “all moderate Democrats.” I was surprised to find my congressman, Rep. Jose Serrano, on that list. Is he a “moderate Democrat”? Let’s ask National Journal:
Serrano has one of the most liberal voting records in the House.
Egad. That does not sound like “moderate Democrat” to me. But let’s look at the details:
In opposition to Cuban Hispanics in Congress, Serrano has been Fidel Castro’s greatest champion in the House. He has sought repeal of economic sanctions against Cuba. When questions arose about Castro’s future after major surgery in July 2006, Serrano issued a press release telling President George W. Bush, “Hands Off Cuba.” When Castro’s brother, Raúl Castro, took control, Serrano said that it was “long past time to end the charade and begin dialogue and engagement with Cuba.” Another of his issues is statehood for Puerto Rico, which he calls an American “colony.” He backs a long-stalled referendum to determine the status of the island. In 2000, Serrano was arrested at the White House while protesting the Navy’s bombing range at Vieques, Puerto Rico. He also took credit for working with Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and Citizen Energy Corp. to strike a deal to bring cheaper oil to the South Bronx. He has criticized the reluctance of House Democratic leaders to pass immigration reform.
In New York politics, Serrano backed former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer for mayor in 2001 and 2005. He backed civil-rights activist Al Sharpton for president in 2004.
Moderate? Maybe among a crowd of Occupy Wall Street Froot Loops. But Mr. Cain is a big-picture kind of guy, I suppose. Coddling Castro? Buddying up to Chavez? Minutiae!

It's been proven Perry endorsed Gore in 1988 for the primary (was not a part of his campaign) -- which Dukakas won because Gore was 2nd amendment, pro-Life, moment of silence, family values guy until he ran with Clinton.
In 1989 Rick Perry moved to the growing Republican party in Texas (along with and joining other conservative Democrats like Phil Gramm). In 1998 Perry became Texas' first Republican Lt. Gov. since Reconstruction -- very Reaganesque -- and Perry voted twice for Ronald Reagan.
And what was Rick Perry doing in 1993 when Cain gave a $250 campaign donation to a Democrat?

Perry has denied that claim, along with the Texas democrats who ran Gore's campaign.
It was your question. If you think he would not, please feel free to provide any evidence to support your position...otherwise you’re just blathering.
Perry's letter was written April 6th, 1993. He stated “I think your efforts to reform the nation's health care system are commendable.” He went on to request the nation's farmers be considered.
Nothing in his letter endorsed any part of the Clinton health care plan, as it could not, since it would be 5 more months before the plan was finalized.
The task force that Hillary Clinton lead was created in January. It didn't submit a plan until September. Perry, as Ag Commissioner, wanted the farmer's role not to be left out of the process. He did not express support for any part of the plan, only the effort to do something.
This borders on the surreal. Is this really the best the liberals can come up with?
Well, he said Clarence Thomas was his favorite judge.
Are you claiming he wrote checks to support people in congress without knowing how they voted on issues?
I've got $100 that you can't prove that claim, either. Perry wrote the letter 5 months before there was ever a proposal.
The letter was written April 4, 1993, which was 2 months after Clinton was ingaugurated. The plan was unveiled in September 1993.

I am deeply disappointed that Texas tax dollars are being used to subsidize the college tuition of illegal immigrants in the state of Texas. The Texas government, especially in these troubling economic times, should not be subsidizing the higher education of adults who cannot legally work in the United States.
Governor Perry, I request you to immediately call a special session of the Texas Legislature in order to end the policy of providing in-state tuition and financial aid for illegal aliens at Texas public universities.
Thousands of United States citizens are currently paying $20,000/year more than illegal immigrants to attend college in Texas; illegal immigrants are also receiving tuition waivers and state financial aid. As a candidate running for the office of President of the United States of America, I ask you to put the interests of American citizens before the interests of citizens of foreign countries, especially those foreign citizens residing in the United States illegally.
Please end this unfair policy, which harms American students and rewards criminal behavior.

Wow! It turns out that Herman “I love TARP” Cain supports liberal Democrats. Why am I not surprised? I am also not surprised that knowing that fact won’t make a lick of difference to the millions of so-called conservatives that are under the spell of the former Federal Reserve Boss. Is it any wonder that this country is circling the toilet bowl.
