He must have thought it was the chase of his life. And it very nearly did cost him his life when Ben the springer collie-cross tumbled 120 feet over a cliff - and survived. ...
Incredibly, the plucky pooch was uninjured in the fall and waited faithfully on the rocks below for his owner to collect him.

Thanks Algernon. Nice story and beautiful dog.
What a sweet little puppy. It’s really wonderful that he was reunited with his owner after all that.
A parallel thought ...
This pooch has about the same brain power as most of the protesters. Sit there and wait for someone else to help you.
Not to offend the pet here, but the de-elevate the human intelligence in the ‘occupy’ sit-ins these days.
I’ve always said all my dogs and cats were on the dole ... of course they are well worth it.
At least the pooch has the excuse of no opposable thumbs.
“This pooch... sit there and wait for someone else to help you”.
Well, he was ACTUALLY just taking in the scenery. It was the human dudes in the boat that decided they should rescue. /s He was chasing a deer for his dinner. You have to give him that!
Years ago I had a Brittany that ran off a 50 ft near vertical cliff above a sandy bottom. I got to where he went over and he was walking in the water. With a little encouragement he was able to find a way back up that much less steep. Surprisingly he was fine.

I beg to differ; this pooch is not blaming others for his mishap, nor is he expecting government to bail him out, but his owner.
This pooch is smarter. ;-)
“So....hey, where’d you go?”
that’s rough
"You found him where?"
What a little sweetie!! Just waiting there, probably thinking “someone will be along shortly to take me to my food bowl and sofa.”
My husband told me a funny story about our dog that I wish I had been around to see in person.
He was out hunting pheasants in one of our farm fields with our German Shorthair. Our dog is an avid and overly-excited hunter who literally bounces when she’s on the scent of birds.
Unbeknownst to my husband, a drainage tile had broken in this field and a six-foot deep sinkhole had formed.
So, there’s Belle about 30 yards in front of him bouncing along with joy...bounce, bounce, bounce....and then GONE!
He ran ahead to find her sitting at the bottom of the hole looking around like “what the heck?” I’m sure she NEVER saw it...LOL!
