The Peacock is looking like a bedraggled starling at the start of its first fall TV season in Comcast's nest.
Three weeks in, overall viewership, according to the Nielsen Co., is up at CBS and Fox, and down less than 1 percent at ABC, vs. year-ago numbers.
But at NBC, it's down 6 percent.
More ominous: Despite a new entertainment boss and a large bump in spending on program development, NBC has seen the average viewership of its five new series drop a stunning 28 percent from levels achieved by last year's five new series in the first three weeks of the season.
Ron Swanson is the best character I’ve seen on TV in a long time:
“Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a day. Don’t teach him how to fish, and you feed yourself. C’mon...he’s a grown man...fishing’s not that hard.”
We just keep getting this message that says that local channel will not be available and suggests we call Direct TV. If it were any of the other alphabet channels I wouldn’t really care if we never received them. Not sure how this works if we wouldn’t get the local channel but would still get CBS. Not really much info either. Guess we’ll see. I can get NCIS on the ION channel but those are generally reruns which is often better than what is showing on regular TV and at my age I sometimes can’t remember if I have seen a program before or not. So it generally works out okay.
O U C H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't stand that stupid hat she wears, and she looks worn out, tired...I'm not opposed to haveing a realistic-looking character on the tube...
That’s news to me. It may be the dispute is with the local affiliate. Locally in DFW, DirecTV’s beef is with the local ABC affiliate owned by the media company Belo. If no agreement is hammered out by November 1st, I will lose ABC programming. If it were with ABC as a whole, I would lose ESPN as well.
This is why I left the other satellite provider.
There are only about seven plots in the history of television and I saw them all ad nauseam by 1970. Interesting conversation here though-- so many shows I never heard of...
Hi you - I’ve been with Direct TV for over 10 years and not ever had a problem with them. Interesting that your issues are with ABC up there and NBC down here.
I will have to look tonight. These things always seem to be resolved. I think the longest absence of a channel was Versus a few years ago.
Agree, Playboy Club was mild.
But apparently boring.
Loved Friday Night Lights.
Oh, yes, the sad demise of SyFi.
We used to watch it all the time. They had some good series, especially SG1.
I haven’t turned to it in ages.
I saw exactly one-half of the first episode of Harry’s law.
When this idiot lawyer, Harry, started defending a drug dealer by saying drugs should be legal, and THEN,
she seques into something about Rush Limbaugh used drugs.
Click.
never turned it on again.
NCIS always shows up in the top rated shows, but I gave it up a couple of years ago.
Tony just got on my nerves too bad, couldn’t stand the smug- aren’t I cute-thing he does.
Didn’t like the Jewish girl (not anti-semetic, she was just annoying)
they made a silly buffoon out of McGee and I just got sick of the whole cast. But I like Mark Harmon.
I did the same thing. I didn't even know the program was still running. I thought it had been cancelled.
Love Jim Caviezel on that show. He’s one tough dude.
>>Saw the video Are those guys out of their minds?<<
They are insane. The show as been on since 1989 and is the best entertainment I’ve ever seen. After seeing a few shows, I was laughing so hard I couldn’t catch my breath.
Once a year they have a special called “Batsu” or in English, punishment games. They go somewhere for 24 hours and have a challenge. It’s amazing.

HAHAHAHAHAHA - that’ a good one!
“My ex wife, Tammy, comes around every once in a while to see if I’m doing ok. If I am, she tries to F it up.”
I have Showtime, but I never watch it. I thought Dexter is a bloody show about a serial killer. When is Homeland on?
