Talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh stunned his audience on Monday when he said that US presidential candidate Ron Paul has the right perspective in wanting to cut US$1 trillion in government spending – although the conservative talker claims he came up with the idea first.
“You’re not going to believe my answer,” Rush told a caller who asked how the Republicans can govern once they defeat President Obama next year. “Ron Paul has a good idea.”

Simple subtraction.
Federal Spending = $3.7 Trillion
Defense Budget = $0.7 Trillion
If anyone can honestly tell me -- aside from National Defense -- what useful purpose the Federal Government serves, ... I'll eat my hat.

You know, that was actually my first thought when I saw the headline... Why only 1 trillion?
Perhaps popular/conservative support for Pauls budget and these sorts of cuts and will spurr the other pres candidates to make similar proposals.

speech at the value voters summit 2 weeks ago. You will find biblical references replete and comments about faith, family and God and limited government. I suspect you may not have seen this... :)
