You know. It is funny when you have an anti-border enforcer running for President suddenly it isn’t necessary to have a fence. This site was promoting the fence huge and not one FREEPER said “Oh that won’t work”.....oh no....there was a complete agreement that a fence was completely needed and we even sent money to those who were advocating. I find it humorous that because Perry doesn’t want a fence, it suddenly is a problem.....NOT A WORD from him when all this money was being raised. I seriously find him revolting......nope don’t hate the guy but don’t trust him AT ALL.

“So why would my support for Cain’s 2008 candidate “

So why would my support for MITT ROMNEY

There...fixed it.

You have a hard time saying things...why?

After the FIRST shooting, we’d have an international crisis on our hands.

God, I can’t believe the ignorance being shown here. Do you all REALLY believe that it is standard practice in international law for countries to shoot civilians when they cross their borders, in a time of peace?

How can you be pro-life and support such a cavalier attitude toward human life? I just don’t get it. I mean, I “support” the death penalty for killers, but it still gives me pause when I know someone is about to be executed. Life is precious, and I swear people are talking like it’s just fine to shoot people who mean nobody any harm.

Your ignorance of Mexico’s southern border enforcement perhaps?

I support obeying the law. What is so hard to figure out. I guess you don’t realize what is going on at the border right now.....you say people who mean no harm? Really? They are killing people at the border right now with the drug stuff going on. I guess you live in Texas and are used to having aliens all over the place, but the rest of the country does not want illegal aliens running around unaccounted for. They are ruining this country and you are allowing it. That is tragic.

You guys are REALLY making Romney look bad by saying stuff like this. But then he’s not the most popular candidate on this site anyway...

You are such an idiot. You read some random comment that I supported Romney 4 years ago (which is common knowledge), and assume that I am trying to help Romney by commenting on Cain, who you SUPPORT even though he endorsed Mitt Romney 4 years ago when I supported Mitt Romney.

And you probably think that makes sense, to attack me falsely because I supported a candidate that your candidate supported. I'm a RINO because I supported Romney. So, is Cain a RINO because HE supported Romney?

I realise now that logic is not your strong suit, but still, glass houses, throw stones, you know, it's not a hard concept to understand, that if your candidate is on record a month ago saying Romney would be a fine choice for President, that he'd be happy to be Romney's VP, and that he would support ROmney over Perry, and that he endorsed Romney in the last election, that you have NO standing to attack another freeper for supporting Romney 4 years ago.

But because I hate to see you wallow in your ignorance, my goal in this election is to keep conservatives from doing something stupid so that Romney ends up our nominee. I've said so repeatedly. I was a Sarah Palin supporter whose candidate never entered the race, and now I'm trying to figure out who has the best chance of beating Romney for the nomination.

And so far, I see Cain as a flash in the pan who will not beat Romney, will not CARE that he didn't beat Romney, and will be happy for having kept Perry from beating Romney.

And I have YET to see ANY freeper publicly admit that they agree with Cain, and would vote for Romney in the primary if it came down to Romney and Perry.

Do you want to be the first? If it's Perry vs Romney, are you going to follow your "solid conservative" candidate's lead and vote Romney?

Now, BobL, you weren't the one saying that we should kill illegals. My argument with you was that you were calling your own candidate a liar, and I don't think he's a liar so I was defending him against your smear.

But since you have chosen to respond to the "kill the illegals" thread, I'll ask you that question as well -- do you think we should be allowed to kill illegals on sight?

You mentioned to me the term "economic sanctuary" when you explained why you believe it is ok for illegals to come here. I don't know how on earth you could even imagine that black people are "economic invaders" since they were brought here, but since you clearly like to juxtapose the word "economic," perhaps you can explain to me why we need to provide illegals with what you called "economic sanctuary" in this country.

Also, how much of out of your own pocket you are willing to give these invading illegals to provide them with "economic sanctuary" and why do you feel it's all right for the govt. to take money from me and other tax payers to provide the illegals with "economic sanctuary."

I'm sure I'll be waiting for some time, but I would like to see how the "moderate" mind works.

An electric fence is a stupid idea. They work fine for cattle. They are also somewhat effective if you also guard them. But it is trivial to short out an electric fence, you just have to ground the thing -- a 60-foot bare copper wire attached to a rock would work fine. Of course, you'd then just cut a hole through the fence and climb through it. And if you build a concrete wall, you can't "electrify" it. You could include an electrified wire on it, but again it's easily cut or shorted out. It's a stupid idea. A killer electric fence would be seen as a crime against humanity. An electric fence would be a colosal waste of money. A fence at many parts of the texas border would also be a colosal waste of money, and would be so unpopular as to cast doubt on the entire operation. As to 9-9-9, Cain's plan says how he'll pass it. He's going to get the Debt Bill Supercommittee to pass it for him. Remember that committee, the one we got out of the debt ceiling bill that all conservatives called a nightmare and a travesty? Remember when conservatives said the supercommittee was a bad idea, and extralegal body, and that their powers were too great, and that they could get into all sorts of mischief? And that we should oppose it because they could put ANYTHING in their recommendation, and then we'd have to take an up-or-down vote with no amendments or debate, and our representatives would be held hostage and forced to vote for whatever crap was in the bill because the alternative would be crippling defence cuts?

Well, Herman Cain's official 9-9-9 plan calls for the supercommittee to do JUST THAT -- to take up an non-debt-reduction measure (cain's 9-9-9 plan is revenue neutral), to add it to their plan (he said "pass" it, but even Cain can't believe the supercommittee can actually pass legislation), and send it to congress. Where our representatives will then be forced to vote FOR it without amendment or debate, or else we get huge military tax cuts.

Now, that is Cain's ACTUAL PLAN. It's on his web site. The suprecommittee is tasked BY LAW to do their recommendations by thanksgiving. But Cain has not written legislative language for his 9-9-9 plan, or sent it to the supercommittee. In other words, at this point in time Cain has not implemented the ONE thing he HAS to implement, according to his own plan -- the legislation that he wants the supercommittee to pass.

And conservatives are cheering Cain for a proposal that uses an extra-legal supercommittee.

Oh, now let's look at that some more. Remember how Cain said it would be 9-9-9, since he'd be president to stop them from making it a 10-10-10, and that congress wouldn't vote for it?

But his actual proposal says he wants the supercommittee to pass it -- that means it would be put in the recommendations next month. IF the democrats took him up on it, but set the numbers to 12-12-12, and added a 5 percent rider for millionares, and they got ONE republican to go along with them, what would happen?

We'd have essentially the official Cain plan with a few tweaks, attached to the debt reduction bill, that congress would have to either accept or reject AS REPORTED, with no amendments or debate. They could either vote FOR Cain's plan but with 12-12-12 and a 5% rider, or they could vote NO, and we'd end up with crushing military cuts.

And if congress passes the 12-12-12, it isn't Cain who will sign it, it's OBAMA. Because this all happens this year. And that is Cain's plan -- to make it happen THIS YEAR, while Obama is still President.

That is what Cain is offering us. Why did Cain choose to use such an undemocratic process to pass his plan? Why would his plan call for the supercommittee, why would have send it to Obama for a signature? How can we take his 9-9-9 plan seriously when it calls for legislation to be passed next month by the supercommittee, and Cain hasn't submitted any legislation to the committee for their approval?

It’s certainly easier for people who can’t successfully defend their position to simply resort to name-calling. But if you are going to say that anybody who supported Romney in 2008 is a liberal, that will disqualify your chosen candidate for this election.

I don’t suspect you’ll be consistant, because you don’t have a rational basis for your claim. It’s just laziness on your part, since you apparently have realised that you can’t justify killing people for stepping across the border.

Charles, is there no subject you will spare in your avoidance to answer my very simple question?
Here it is again...

Do you support the use of deadly force in protecting the border...Yes or no?

Herman Cain was not a Mittbot. He supported Mittens out of the troika of RINOs remaining in the race. You however, were always with Mittens, from the very beginning defending his love of abortion, gay marriage, gays in the military and every other liberal idea the Mittwit could imagine. You did this from the beginning while conservatives were in the race.

Cain never did that. So just stop trying to equate your liberalism with his conservatism.

Easy. When these liberals are against the wall, they go hide. To difficult to take responsibility just like their candidate. It is insane that Perry has supporters at all. He is the worst candidate that Republicans have tried to force on us. Luckily for us he was a horrible candidate and is now in single digits. Ricardo Perry lovers are upset because they look like fools for backing an idiot.

Are we taking bets? If so, I pick "get the supercommittee to pass the 9-9-9 plan" as the next big "I was joking" moment.

Because sometime soon, people are going to notice that Cain hasn't written an actual bill for 9-9-9, and has no intention of sending one to the supercommittee to incorporate into their debt reduction plan.

But Cain's plan says that is how he will implement 9-9-9: "I call on the Super Committee to pass the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan along with their spending cut package"

The supercommittee will vote their recommendations in a little over a month. When Cain doesn't send them a bill, and does nothing to try to force them to take it up, it will be clear how "serious" he was about the plan.

The really sad thing is that I have been on several threads like this and the next day the same people come back to another thread crowing like roosters how they smacked their opponents down and made us look like fools.

It either never dawns on them, or they just do not care that their liberalism is laughed at and mocked by the majority of the lurkers who, unlike them, are actually conservative and hold conservative beliefs.

In fact several on this thread are specifically those I refer to ;)

No. I’ve answered it, and I bet I did so well enough that other freepers don’t feel the need.

You’ve not defended your position, just resorted to namecalling. And here you are, ignoring that your question has been answered by multiple people on this thread, just like you ignored the answers on the last thread, and now you are pretending that your assertion is still unquestioned.

Deadly force is NOT acceptable simply to stop unarmed people from crossing the border. Deadly force is a last resort when confronted with an uncontrollable onslaught, a military invasion.

And you haven’t answered the question — do you think it is OK to shoot illegals on sight?

That sure looks like he was joking. The “I’ll find them a job” is a good clue. But we could take him literally as BobL suggests, since this is the “first” thing he said about it.

If we do take him literally, then I guess we have definitive proof, using BobL logic, that Herman Cain wants to give jobs to illegals who break into our country.

I thought we were supposed to shoot them or deport them, not find them jobs.

It is perfectly acceptable, OK, alright, and desirable to shoot any illegal invader attempting to violate the border of the USA. Give them a warning to turn back and if they refuse to do so, shoot them.

If an illegal ia already IN America, they should be immediately deported.
