Huge ‘strike two’ emerging on Romney: He’s into this climate change fraud
Right Scoop ^ | 10/17/11 | Dan Cleary

And we all know what strike one is.

If anyone besides Romney actually shows up to tomorrow night’s GOP debate in Nevada, I sure wouldn’t mind if someone would ask him why as Governor of Massachusetts he bragged about implementing stringent, economy-stifling regulations on CO2 emissions. On the advice of Obama’s crackpot science czar John Holdren, no less.

I’d really love to hear the explanation.

Via Hot Air and Moonbattery, here is an excerpt from a 2005 memo from Romney’s office:

Governor Mitt Romney today announced that Massachusetts will take another major step in meeting its commitment to protecting air quality when strict state limitations on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from power plants take effect on January 1, 2006. …

Massachusetts is the first and only state to set CO2 emissions limits on power plants. The limits, which target the six largest and oldest power plants in the state, are the toughest in the nation…

In addition to reaffirming existing stringent CO2 limits, the draft regulations announced today, which will be filed next week, contain protections against excessive price increases for businesses and consumers. They allow power generation companies to implement CO2 reductions at their own facilities or fund other reduction projects off-site through a greenhouse gas offset and credits program.

The memo goes on to cite Holdren as one of Romney’s advisers on this policy.

No wonder Al Gore has a soft spot for Mitt.

You're only up to strike two?

In my book he's up to strike 27. Game over.

In case you were curious -

Mr. Cain does not believe in man-made global warming. He has stated that there has been no proven that global warming is a crisis. He opposed the cap-and-trade legislation, calling it nothing more that a tax scheme.

Here is what TeaPartyNation has to say about romney:

Who is the real Mitt Romney? Mitt Romney has been trying to sell us on the idea he is a fiscal conservative for months now. Of course, that does not dove tail with his past.

Which is the real Mitt Romney?

There is no question that when Mitt Romney was the governor of Massachusetts, he was a liberal Republican. When he ran for the US Senate against Ted Kennedy in Massachusetts in 1994, he ran as a liberal, often claiming to be to the left of Kennedy.

People do change. Could Romney have changed? Possibly. I could win the lottery too, but I’m not counting on it.

Romney left the governor’s mansion in Massachusetts and immediately began running for President. When someone moves from being a liberal to a conservative, they usually have an epiphany of some type. The only epiphany Romney had was he would need to be much more conservative if he wanted to secure the Republican nomination.

Who is the real Mitt Romney?

In 2005, Romney decided he was going to run for President in 2008 and not run for reelection as the governor of Massachusetts. From that date on, he was basically a lame duck. So what did he do?

He consulted with Jonathan Gruber, MIT Professor and in 2006, signed into law the Massachusetts Health Reform Law, which Obama has said, was the basis for Obamacare. Obama also consulted with Gruber to create Obamacare.

Romney consulted with John Holdren, who would later become Obama’s science advisor. Holdren is the same guy who has called for massive, involuntary sterilization, forced abortion and the de-development of the United States. With Holdren giving him advice, Romney signed Massachusetts’ cap and trade law that went into effect on January 1, 2006.

In 2006, Romney started and Obama-esqe program called the “Car Ownership Program.” Welfare recipients were given cars. Not only were they given cars at no cost, Massachusetts paid for the car insurance for the recipients. Massachusetts also paid for car repairs and even gave them AAA!

People in Massachusetts started calling the program “Free Wheels for Welfare.”

The program was not well known and continued on for three years, until it became much better known, much more embarrassing and was eventually killed.

Why all of the attention on the real Mitt Romney?

We have a narrow window. In 2012, we will elect more conservatives to the House and will take control of the Senate. We are going to need a conservative President who will help push through a conservative agenda that will rip socialism out of government root and branch.

Mitt Romney is a big government Republican. The Mitt wing of the party is trying to gloss over that, by selling him as the inevitable winner and the only one who can beat Obama. Neither is true.

We will have the two-year window between 2013 and 2015 change the government and take big government apart. If we fail, then the Party of Treason will have won and we will never get rid of big government.

We cannot get rid of big government with a big government Republican leading the charge. We need someone who believes government is the problem and that problem must be corrected. Mitt Romney thinks big government is just fine.

That is the real Mitt Romney.

Garbage in, garbage out: How climate scientists perpetrated their scam
December 12, 2009
By Herman Cain

My colleague Dan Calabrese summarized what happened:

The exposure of e-mails from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia demonstrate beyond a shadow of any doubt that – at the very least – global warmist climate researchers a) dumped data they didn’t want others to see; b) manipulated data to hide information that didn’t support their preconceived conclusions; c) didn’t know how to explain the lack of warming over the past decade; and d) conspired to attack their critics and prevent their work from being published.

My colleague Dan Sherrier called it what it really is, a scam:

Global warming is perhaps the most brilliant scam in all of history.

Less ethical scientists who want government subsidies can offer interpretations of data that further a politician’s ability to justify seizing more power. Or, you can invest in “green” companies, knowing that the government will stack the decks for those companies to do well. There’s plenty to gain.

And, my colleague Jerome Corsi reported on honest research that shows global cooling for the last decade over the United States and Canada:

The mainstream media is reporting the World Meteorological Organization’s assessment of global average temperatures asserting this decade is “the warmest on record,” without mentioning the WMO data actually documents the United States and Canada experienced cooler-than-average conditions since 2000.

To provide one more blow to the junk science used to produce a political result for the United Nations and the Obama Administration, I will draw upon my formal education in mathematics and computer science, and my early professional experiences using mathematical modeling, to explain how easy and tempting it was for the named climatologists to do what they did.

Let’s start with an analogy. Each month the Labor Department issues the official unemployment rate for the country. For November 2009 it was 10.0 percent. The number of government jobs has been increasing for the last three months, whereas the number of professional services jobs has been decreasing.

If the Labor Department wanted to fudge the unemployment rate to make it look better than it is, it could have conveniently left out the number of professional service jobs. But they did not and I doubt that they would. After all, one of their jobs is to just count heads and it would be easily detected by most analysts.

But when a group of scientists intentionally omit a large amount of data from the development of their models to predict future climate change trends, as pointed out by Dan Calabrese and others, it is not easily detectable without some inside information. That’s what the hacked e-mails provided.

It is also dishonest and unreliable.

I learned early on that with any computer program the principle of “garbage in means garbage out” is always true. When you do not use all of the empirical data to develop your mathematical model it is “garbage in.”

It is outrageous that the head of the United Nations, the head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Obama Administration are all dismissing these revelations as they push onward with their political agenda in the face of scientifically manufactured results.

This is no longer a controversy. This is conclusive. And once again, liberals choose to ignore the facts.

It’s a scam.

This is nothing new. He doesn’t even lie about his global warming stance. Why nobody calls him out on it, I don’t know. Maybe Perry will make himself useful tomorrow.

Herman, Michele, Newt, or Rick, ... PLEASE POUND on Romney over this!

The GOP hates Cap-n-Tax and that man-made-global-warming myth!

Mitt’s former adviser, now Obama’s czar John Holdren, is a total environmental-Nazi nut-job!

Nail Romney to the wall on this, please! Nevada is a good place to focus on ENERGY.

Perry has of the current field the best record of experience in governance and service to his country.

We should not use MSM standards to judge Rick Perry. Its exactly what the WAPO left wants to happen as it dismisses Perry outright. Yes Perry has conservative shortcomings in several areas of his record, on immigration policy for example, but he stands head and shoulders above all of them on governance experience and service to the nation and his sins are minor compared to Romney’s.

We shouldn’t elect a TV personna this time, besides, he often carries a Ruger .380 auto when he jogs, that alone earns my vote, LOL.

This says it all, Perry will beat the ass off Obama if he secures the nomination,he has nailed him before directly and has the balls to take Obama on face to face as a matter of official duty, unlike any of the other candidates:

http://www.myfoxaustin.com/dpp/news/local/gov.-perry’s-letter-to-obama-asks-1000-troops-to-secure-border

Perry has consistently followed the policy of manned border security and put it too Obama personally. Obama’s reaction was to harass Texas with the EPA.

Perry is a good man, the best of the field:

C-130 Rick Perry: He Flew The World Before Politics

Abilene Online

By Sarah Kleiner Varble

Rank: Retired as a captain

Hometown: Haskell

Crew job: C-130 aircraft commander

Served in the Air Force: 1972 to 1977

Dyess AFB tour: March 4, 1974, to Feb. 28, 1977

His story:Way back before he was governor of Texas, Rick Perry had two choices as a young member of the Air Force.

He could either follow his dream and work toward becoming an instructor pilot in the sleek T-38, or he could fly the hulking C-130, planes that affectionately were referred to as “trash haulers” by Perry and his cohorts.

“There was no telling what you were going to haul around on any given day, from high value cargo like human beings to the colonel’s kitty litter,” Perry told the Reporter-News in a recent phone interview.

He wanted to fly T-38s, but not badly enough to move to Selma, Ala., where he would have been assigned. So, Perry chose to stay in Texas and fly the C-130.

In 1974, he moved to Dyess Air Force Base, about 55 miles from his hometown of Haskell, and began a career that took him all over the world and shaped his political future.

“It was one of the great adventures of my life,” Perry said. “I had a fairly pedestrian life until I was 23 years old.”

Perry could count on one hand the number of trips he had taken out of his home state by the time he graduated from Texas A&M University, but everything changed when he joined the Air Force.

Flying C-130s, Perry lived in Germany and Saudi Arabia. He flew in Central and South America, North Africa and all over Europe.

“I saw all of these different types of governments and I made the connections to how the people acted and looked, and it became abundantly clear to me that, at that particular point in time, that America was this very unique place and that our form of democracy was very rare,” Perry said. “ ... That was the greatest gift I received from my years of being in the military, and they really shaped my outlook on the rest of my life.”

Perry retired from the Air Force in 1977 — but not without one last adventure.

As his final days approached, Perry was assigned to a mission to “haul trash” to Bermuda with a relatively inexperienced crew.

“I’m sure the young guys stayed up a little longer than the older guy, which would be me at 26 years old,” Perry said, and they fell asleep on the way back to Abilene.

About the time the plane reached Atlanta, a fire light for the No. 3 engine flashed once. And then it flashed again.

Perry poked his co-pilot as the light reappeared and held steady on red.

Using the headset, he asked the loadmaster to take a look at the engine from the window and about that time, the engine exploded and blew a tail pipe off the plane.

“He started screaming that we were on fire and that we were all going to die,” Perry said. “The aircraft operated as advertised and flies amazingly well on three engines.”

Perry and his crew were stuck at Pope Air Force Base while awaiting a new engine. With three days left in his enlistment, Perry called the command post at Dyess and informed them that they would have to send a new pilot along with the engine if they didn’t hurry.

“I said, ‘In three days, I’m not Captain Perry anymore, I’m Mr. Perry, and I’m going home,” Perry said.

The engine arrived and the plane returned to Dyess in time for Perry to retire Feb. 28, as planned.

He went on to be elected to the state House of Representatives, agriculture commissioner, lieutenant governor and, finally, governor of Texas.
