Obama Approval 43% & 39% Say He Deserves 2nd Term
UTICA, NY--Herman Cain is now the runaway leader among Republican presidential primary voters with 45%, more than twice that of second-place Mitt Romney (21%). Rick Perry, who led with 41% in late August, has fallen to 7%, and Michele Bachmann, who led in June and July, now gets just 1%.
President Barack Obama's approval rating among all voters is 43%, and the percentage saying he deserves re-election is 39%.
These results are from an IBOPE Zogby interactive poll conducted from Oct. 11-14.
Cain appears to have won support of voters who previously supported Perry or Bachmann. Romney's 21% is the highest we have shown for him in match-ups with the current field of announced candidates.
Republican Candidates (asked only of the party's primary voters)
If the Republican primary for president were held today, for whom would you vote?

Perry has 14 million on hand. He is in til Florida, regardless of his polling.
I'm more concerned about his 'middle path on immigration'
Cain/Paul 2012?
(............sly, hopeful grin...........)
There will be no split in the conservative vote.
It will be Cain versus Romney!!
Romney’s never been above 25% in the average in the past 5 years (he peaked at 24.6% in 2008 and he’s only at 23.9% now). He can’t win when 75% of the electorate doesn’t support him. And given that Romney’s already dead in the water he’s not likely to go anywhere. Meanwhile, Cain is surging and will likely get the conservative support from Gingrich, Santorum, Paul and Bachmann when they drop out. The pro-RINO voters who currently support Perry may go Romney’s way but with Perry barely in double-digits it won’t be enough.
YOU GUYS ARE INVITED, TOO!!!!
But he's such a great "debater" man. Isn't that what we're all after? A great debater?
Just kidding. Oh I think you are WAY wrong if you think Romney has no chance. He won't carry anyone of us, or from the conservative branch of the party. But we're in the process of SPLITTING the anti-Romney vote. It needs to be solid and just as reliable as Romney's support.
Cain has no money or infrastructure in place. Jon Karl visited his Iowa headquarters last Friday and it was locked up tight as a drum. Nobody inside working. Just a copy machine and a chair.
I am not kidding you. Without some type of a miracle, he simply has no chance of defeating Romney.
Off somewhere putting together more blather posts for Perry about how he’s really, really for border control, and why Cain can’t win because he’s shilling for Romney....They get paid for throughput, not arguing...
Ack! Run away!!
.........YES!
Can’t wait to see the talking heads try to back-peddle on this one.
I think when he started ticking off the right type of Leftists was when I really got excited about this guy.
Yeah, that 14 million will buy alot of crossover liberal Hispanic votes in Florida, just like McCain did in the last primary. 14 million can buy alot of voter fraud.
That’s a huge percentage. Wow Cain taking no prisoners.
It’s a mistake getting carried away with poll numbers this early in the game Naps....a commentor mentioned polls at this time are like cotton candy they melt in your mouth and are gone....Bachman, Perry and now Cain have ridden the media’s focused reporting on them...but this all ebbs and swings as we will see down the rode.
I’d personally like to see ‘Bachman’ rise again and hear more of her, though she seemed there for a time to be off her mark when she hept trying to keep the Perry G-immuniation issue going further than it needed to. She should have stopped doing so and re-focus on her own achievements and stances. I like her and want to see her back in the fray soon.
BTTT!
The difference is, with Perry they’d actually be right.
