Herman Cain On "Meet The Press": Liberals Are "Destroying" Economy
RealClearPolitics ^ | 10/16/11 | RealClearPolitics

MR. GREGORY: You've talked as well about liberals in the country. You gave a speech in February where you didn't mince words. This is what you said.

(Videotape)

MR. CAIN: The objective of the liberals is to destroy this country.

(End videotape)

MR. GREGORY: To destroy this country. How so?

MR. CAIN: Economically. Look at this economy. David, the engine of economic growth is the business sector. We are growing at an anemic 1, 1 1/2 percent. If we allow this economy to continue to go down, it would destroy our economic capability. And, as a result, we are now looking at how much in defense we can cut. That's destroying it. It...

MR. GREGORY: You think liberals actually seek to do that, that that's their mission, to destroy the economy?

MR. CAIN: I--that's the conclusion that I have drawn.

MR. GREGORY: Not mismanagement.

MR. CAIN: No!

I think that Cain is better than “better than the worst”, but I can’t feign enthusiasm. I think he’s a nice guy, he seems smart and competent, but I had hoped for better, and she’s not competing. BTW, I’m a guy, and I’m on the same page that you are, LL, resigned to mediocrity. Bob

No offense to your kinfolk, but anyone at this juncture who even CONSIDERS voting for Obama against ANYONE is a fool. Obots are every bit the chumps that the followers of Jimmy Swaggert were.

I whole heartedly agree FRiend. Cain is a nice guy and all, and he has a rather good radio talk show, but he is absolutely, in way over his head as a candidate for President.

Cain's recent spurt of popularity will more than likely not hold up. Which confuses me greatly, as to why so many people here, jump to impulsive decisions, in regards to going from one candidate to another in just a few short days and weeks. But the degree of over zealous support is way beyond logical restraint in this case.

Cain lacks way too much to be getting this kind of rabid, blind support.

Yes, but Beck was saying it before Rush got onboard with the idea. And all Beck got for being right is the boot. Something’s wrong with this picture. I notice nobody gives Beck credit for saying this is what they were up to all along.

If they manage to confiscate everyone’s 401k/savings accounts, they will finally achieve that goal.

“Calling a spade a spade, I like it.”

And he still remains likeable, which doesn’t hurt!

"Their mission is to destroy our economy and then convince the electorate that the cause of the destruction was due to capitalism itself."

Exactly. The communists within are using the same tactics to destroy the morale of our military.

I don’t know if that is what he meant or not. Why should Americans have to read into where his loyalties reside more than we did with Obama in 2008 ? I’m personally not interested in waiting until after the election to find out.

Either Cain is pandering to the radical right and then not having the stones to admit it, truly joking or truly serious. If the public cannot distinguish these without explanation he is just another president that doesn’t know what the HELL he is doing !

HOWEVER, I must truthfully say... if I'm Ahmadinejad, or Putin, and I see this interview, I'd be thinking... "This guy is a total amateur and incompetent on Foreign Policy. I can push him around. I can overwhelm him with created crises and tie him in knots!"

The Foreign Policy part of the interview, Cain seemed very amateurish and lost to me. He was BS'ing his way through.

Point 1. When anyone starts with, "I must truthfully say" or "in all honesty" or any other qualifiers that indicate that normally you lie, but this this time "YOU MUST TRUTHFULLY SAY" anything that follows is in your "truthful saying" BS.

Point 2. Cain's foreign policy is very straightforward, PEACE, THROUGH STRENGTH AND CLARITY.

Yeah, I know about my cousins. They mean well but the road to hell is paved with good intentions. My cousins have never been trained in logical thinking.

Well, one of them has. She is an MD living out west. We’ve missed each other at holidays for a few years, but when she spoke with me about going to med school, I said that it was great news because I was tired of being the only Republican in the clan. When she asked why it would change her, I told her that when she drew that first “big” check and looked at the deductions that she was smart enough to figure it out.

As for ol’ Jimmy, he’s back on the satellite! Francis and Donny have their own gigs now as well!
