In the spot, titled Agree, Santorum highlights all of the areas where he and his fellow GOP candidates dont arrive at a consensus. He notes his disagreement with former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney on government run Romneycare. He calls Texas Governor Rick Perry dead wrong for supporting in-state tuition rates for illegal immigrants. Santorum also vehemently opposes the Wall Street bailouts, which former Godfathers Pizza CEO Herman Cain supported.
However, the take away message of the ad is that Santorum and his fellow GOP contenders do agree on perhaps the most important issue: defeating Barack Obama in 2012. Barack Obama has to go, Santorum says, And if theres anything weve learned from his failed presidency, its that experience matters.

Still, Santorum has been a great senator and I thank him for his valuable service--especially to the unborn.
Sadly, after disappointing everyone on MANY issues after Bush and Santorum bailed him out in the primary, Specter publicly said that Bush needed to nominate people who would not try to overturn Roe v. Wade which was opposite of Bush's and Santorum's position and then changed to the Democrat Party.
It has left a bitter taste and it's too bad, but that's reality.
I think Santorum endorsed Specter because his President asked him to and maybe even believed he had a better chance to win than Toomey. Frankly I was disappointed that he went along on that road.
I liked a lot of things about Santorum, one being that he had the guts and honesty to realize that we are in a war with Islamic Fascism. There are a lot of things to like, but that bitter taste remains.
He lost his last election in ‘06, 2 years AFTER he had endorsed Specter and when Republicans were under huge assault by MSM/DNC lies about the Republican Party being corrupt and the Dems being the “drain the swamp” Party. It boggles the mind, but it was a very successful assault and Indies believed it.
I believe his Specter mistake played at least as much a part in his huge loss as the Dem assault because of Republican disappointment, especially as there were two full years of Specter’s treachery to absorb by Republican voters. IMO it was too bad and I hated to see him lose to something like Casey, but he did.
I like Santorum and am sorry he hasn't gotten more traction.
We just do not have a perfect candidate and we all cherry pick an issue about someone without looking at the broad picture.
Bingo. Bush and the RNC pushed him hard to do it and even threatened him financially for not getting on board.
Santorum has less baggage than the others, but I expect him to exit the race by December. It does seem like that the cozying up to Specter and GWB ruined Rick Santorum.
But the mode of taxation means NOTHING if the SPENDING and the SCOPE of government doesn't change. That should be Issue #1.
Hear, hear. And I wonder why Cain is offering a distraction from the main point. It is either because he is stupid or he is working for Ubama and the dems. He sure is giving them a lot of ammo.
I was quite sure about the push, but I didn't know about the financial threats. Bush was a lot better than Hussein, but I really like Bush less and less all the time.
I think the real culprit in these thug tactics was Rove. Most of the misery that GOP is in today is because of his short sighted maneuvers to stay in power and win in ‘04.
Agreed! And he’s still causing trouble and doing harm, but more people are onto him now.
You’re probably right about Rove. Another disappointment from the state of UT
