LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Two cows caused a traffic jam Friday morning when they got loose on the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
The cows were being loaded up from the Texas Tech Animal and Food Sciences Center when they made a break for it. It took a combination of 10 police units and ropers from the Texas Tech ranching team to catch them both.
One cow was caught off the MSF between Quaker Avenue and Slide Road. The other cow jumped through a law office window before being captured on 19th Street and Avenue Q behind Lubbock High School.
The cows are being taken back to the livestock center in New Deal.
KCBD NewsChannel 11 will continue to track this story and bring you any updates as soon as they become available.
English Lit class at a cow college.
Ah, don’t have a cow.
OTOH, no pictures of Helen Thomas.
Very moooooving.
"New Deal? Darn, I thought they were taking us to New Delhi!"
Wow...look at those delightfully awful (60s? 70s?) clothes!
Animal and Food Sciences Center?
Those poor cows thought they were free, and now they’re going back to a food sciences center. Pretty sad.
Okay, okay... center. Here. Now.
I didn't want to face it. I'm owning up to it.
Perhaps, I was too shy to admit...
I'm having a moo bang moment. There. I've said it.
A memorial service will be held at Louie’s Steakhouse.
You rats! I was going to post this as a break from all the really bad news out there. My oldest son graduated from Engineering School at TT, and he would love this story.
As one of his electives he had to choose a course from another Engineering discipline (he was in Mechanical Engineering) and he took a course in Agricultulral engineering. One of his assignments was to count quail in a certain area of a field. That was his favorite course. His friends all laughed because he really counted and estimated the quail, rather than making it up.
Those young men will never forget the day in class when someone broke in and sent them out with horses and ropes.
TT is a very fine school with a great faculty.
Video at the link. Cute cowboys.
LOLOLOLOL!
