Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney raised $14.2 million in the third fundraising quarter, bringing his total amount raised for his 2012 presidential race to $32 million.

“We are proud of the $32 million we have raised for the campaign so far. This is just the start of the effort to help fuel Mitt Romney’s message that will defeat President Obama next November,” said Spencer Zwick, Romney’s national finance director.

Romney ended September with $14.65 million in the bank. He has raised only primary money and has yet to make any personal donations to the campaign. In 2008, Romney gave more than $40 million to his presidential bid.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry raised $17 million in the third quarter, his first as a presidential candidate, and has $15 million on hand. Texas Rep. Ron Paul collected $8 million between July 1 and Sept. 30.

In the meantime, Herman Cain, who is tied in the polls with Romney, has less than a million dollars for his campaign.

I like Herman Cain, but he needs more money. Perry, even though the media has labeled him dead, has the best chance outside of Romney to take the primary.

At this point I will vote for Cain. Maybe Perry.

And if Romney is the nominee, I will easily vote for him in the general. Zero has to go.

These numbers are misleading. All the candidates now have Super PAC’s out there which can receive unlimited contributions and the transactions remain secret. Even Bachmann has a Super PAC which was running ads against Perry in SC a few weeks ago.

Pay no attention to the “official” numbers that are made public.

“I like Herman Cain, but he needs more money.”

Four years ago the best financed candidates were Giuliani and Romney. McCain was broke and Huckabee never raised any money. Primaries are not decided by 30 second ads on TV.

This is misleading.

Cain raised 2.46 million his 2nd quarter, and around 2 million his 3rd quarter. He already said that he is hiring additional staff and setting up offices across the country.

His point is, he is not running any debt.

He does need our money, but let’s not paint the campaign as “broke”

If Myth gets the GOP nod, there will be a third party challenge...it will be Ron Paul...

Well if this is the case, Obama wins the plurality. It will be 1992 all over again with Paul taking the place of Perot.

That could happen. However, Obama is much more unpopular now, than Clinton was in 1996. I think a lot of folks, even conservatives, would hold their nose and vote for Mitt or Perry (I could easily see Paul running as a third party against Perry).

And yet, for all his millions, Flim-Flam Romney can't get above 25% in the polls.

Pathetic.

If that happens, and there's on other viable conservative 3rd party (Sarah Palin, for example), I'll vote for Ron Paul, as much as it would pain me to do so.

Mitt Romney is a non-starter. Better a known enemy like Obama than a false friend like Romney.
