Two days ago President Obama authorized the deployment to Uganda of approximately 100 combat-equipped U.S. forces to help regional forces remove from the battlefield meaning capture or kill Lords Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony and senior leaders of the LRA.
The forces will ultimately go to Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the permission of those countries.
The president made this announcement in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, Friday afternoon, saying that deploying these U.S. Armed Forces furthers U.S. national security interests and foreign policy and will be a significant contribution toward counter-LRA efforts in central Africa.

Actually it was 100 combat troops “plus logistical personel”. That could end up being over a thousand boots on the ground, easily.
The administration shows its true colors.. again.
O is the 12th Imam? 8-o
Another one of “Bush’s wars”?
Who assessed and presented the pressing need for US troops? Raoul Odinga?
How many wars are we in now?
100 troops? That’s less than your typical infantry company.
This group is not a bunch of Boy Scouts by any meaning of the words,, however, one might be a bit suspicious of this timing of a deployment as well.. mo.
UGANDA now ??
We are from the govt. and we are to help.....
Sending “military advisors”. Where have I heard that before?
I think we’re up to 5.. but I’m a product of old school education.
Making Uganda safe for Islam!
Unbelievable.
Take a megaphone and inform the OWS crowd!
Obama spent $27Million of our tax dollars to help Kenya rewrite its national constitution. No surprise then that the eligibility requirement for the Kenyan presidency was altered so BHO2 is now eligible. He has his bolt hole all ready and waiting!
The Lord’s Resistence Army is Christian, though their tactics are hardly those of saints. Per Wikipedia:
“In January 1987, Joseph Kony made his first appearance as a spirit medium, one of many who emerged after the initial success of the Holy Spirit Movement of Alice Auma. Former Uganda People’s Democratic Army commander Odong Latek convinced Kony to adopt conventional guerrilla warfare tactics, primarily surprise attacks on civilian targets, such as villages. The LRA also occasionally carried out large-scale attacks to underline the inability of the government to protect the populace. Until 1991 the LRA raided the populace for supplies, which were carried away by villagers who were abducted for short periods...”
They are supposedly known to be brutal and use child soldiers. So, does that mean they’re different from the opposition who are every bit as brutal and use child soldiers?
Why in Hell are we always supporting Muslims and opposing Christians fighting for their very existance?
They need to amend the War Powers Act by creating a “Joint Standing Security Committee” in Congress made up of an equal number of Representatives and Senators from both political parties to review and approve or void any requests by a sitting American President to dispatch American forces overseas. The Committee should make their decisions based PURELY on America’s best interests and the chances of military success.
We can no longer trust a President - any President - of either political party, with the kind of UNSUPERVISED military power they have had in the past.
This group the LRA, appears to be a group of brutal fanatical extremists, whose loss the world would little regret. But the degree to which our own national interests my be involved in this situation is highly questionable.
Obama is acting in an increasingly irresponsible manner with handling the most powerful military force the world has ever seen. This can no longer be permitted to continue unsupervised.
How does this enhance US security? He views the US military as a novel toy for satisfying his whims, or a cross between social servants and fitness trainers.
Anybody doubt that he’s a Muslim, now?
Two days ago a Iran distraction, today a war.
What might this foreign gay man do if the economy collapsed? I think we all know that.
