Geithner: Action against Wall St. coming
By: Tim Mak October 14, 2011 10:51 AM EDT
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner suggested Friday that a new round of dramatic enforcement actions against Wall Street wrongdoing is coming.
Stay tuned for that, Geithner said.
Asked on CNBC about the Occupy Wall Street movements frustrations over the lack of criminal charges related to the financial crisis, Geithner said action is on the way.
Youve seen very, very dramatic enforcement actions already by the enforcement authorities across the U.S. government, and Im sure youre going to see more to come. You should stay tuned for that, he said.
Progressive groups have often pushed for Wall Street CEOs to be prosecuted for the financial crisis of 2008.
I think there are some investigations hopefully, they will lead to criminal charges, but what I think the average American is saying is that if a kid smokes marijuana, that kid could end up in jail. These people [on Wall Street], because of their activity, destroyed the economy. Millions of people lost their jobs, their homes, their life savings, and now theyre making more than they ever did before, said independent Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) last month on CNN.
Geithner Friday said the Obama administration had moved swiftly after the crisis to put into place new protections for consumers and investors.
We moved very quickly to put in place a much stronger set of rules of the game across the financial sector. Now, were now facing a lot of resistance to those rules, but were going to make sure that we deliver the promise of those reforms, which is a much tougher set of rules across the system against risk-taking and much stronger protections for consumers, he said.

Perp walks and public floggings in Yankee Stadium...integral to the Obama reelect campaign
They’re goin’ for it.
So when will the government criminals, Chris Dodd and Bawney Fwank, get their jail sentences for their part in this?
I’d be satisfied it they started with Dodd/Frank.
Sure, what this economy needs is more government
regulation. /s

Just another day in the Obamaland thugocracy.....
Surely there is someone at a high level on Wall Street who has done something illegal as well as the flagrantly unethical behavior we already know about.
I’m thinking he’s not talking about Fannie and Freddy executives past and present or Bawny Fwanks or Chris Dodd.
Hussein hates America. For this reason, he must be defeated in 2012. No Republican candidate hates America.
Little Timmy, when are we going to see your poofter derriere in azz-bangin’ prison?
In other words, “Donate more to the Obama campaign, or we’ll shut you down”.
Turbo Tim is going to be prosecuted for tax evasion?
Along with Charlie Rangel?
Oh wait...that’s not Wall Street...that’s Easy Street
Somehow I doubt Turbo is talking about his overlords at Goldman Sachs, either
This sounds like a scheme sure to make Wall Street cough up extra protection money...errr....campaign donations....for obama
“The monstrous evils of the twentieth century have shown us that the greediest money grubbers are gentle doves compared with money-hating wolves like Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler, who in less than three decades killed or maimed nearly a hundred million men, women, and children and brought untold suffering to a large portion of mankind”

“Hussein hates America. For this reason, he must be defeated in 2012.”
Yes.
“No Republican candidate hates America.”
Perhaps not, but there are Professional Political Thieves that look at the Nation, the People within the Nation that pay the taxes in support of the Nation as nothing more than a cash cow for them to milk. The Republican Party has those as well the Democrats.
In lieu of a costly, and most certain to fail attempt to educate Americans the importance of paying attention to more than pretty hair, and a winning smile we need term limits.
We also need to take all the successes of the many years of the Left towards their goal of centralizing our Government under the Fed, and eliminate them if the States wisely choose NOT to incorporate those aspects of government to their system.
No matter we must demonstrably weaken the Central Government to the point it is controllable by the States, by the people, not the various smug Leftist entities of the day.
