Gov. Perry Unveils Jobs Plan (FULL TRANSCRIPT)
Cypress Times ^ | Oct 14, 2011 | Rick Perry

Pittsburgh: Gov. Rick Perry's Full Remarks on Energizing American Jobs

The central issue facing Americans is a lack of jobs.

The plan I present this morning, Energizing American Jobs and Security, will kick-start economic growth and create 1.2 million jobs.

It can be implemented quicker and free of Washington gridlock because it doesn't require congressional action. Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions, we will begin the process of creating jobs soon after the inauguration of a new president.

The quickest way to give our economy a shot in the arm is to deploy American ingenuity to tap American energy. But we can only do that if environmental bureaucrats are told to stand down.

Perry plans to annex the US to Mexico by exeuctive order on his first day in office.

Posting pieces of crap like that is what brings FR down to the level of DU. You must think it's cute but it's not.

Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions,

Was this just a gaffe, or is he really saying he'll be Obama II?

Many of the laws congress passes explicitly give the executive branch the job of implementing, which often includes making hundreds of specific decisions about where, when, and how things will happen.

EOs are a valid part of the implementation of laws, and they are also a good way for a President to rein in and reverse the overreaching of executive branch departments under the previous administration.

The idea that executive orders are illegal, unlawful, or unconstitutional is not borne out by any legislative or judicial action.

I read the transcript. Sorry that you’re governor is a total joke on the national stage. But I will NEVER support a president who believes he can do virtually whatever he wishes simply by signing a document.

There is WAY TOO MUCH power in the hands of the executive. Dubya expanded it. OBummer expanded it. And now Perry will do the same.

America does not need another power hungry executive.

But ignoring those facts Perry has proven himself to be unelectable. What exactly do you find admirable about Governor Rick?

I think Palin may already be advising Rick Perry — hence the focus on energy solutions to the jobs crisis. Bet she comes out later in full support of Perry.

You think worshiping that simpleton is brilliant, but it is not.

Perry’s simplistic babble is nailing his coffin shut.

More information about Perry’s plan at his website:

http://www.rickperry.org/energizing-american-jobs-html/

Energizing American Jobs and Security

We will energize American jobs and national security through executive orders and executive actions that expand energy exploration all across America. Key components of the plan include:

- Expand energy exploration offshore and on federal and private lands across the country by executive order, creating over 1.2 million jobs

- Eliminate current and proposed activist EPA regulations from the Obama administration, saving 2.4 million jobs by 2020 and lowering projected costs by $127 billion

- Reduce, rebuild, and refocus the EPA federal regulators, returning authority to the states

- Level the playing field for all energy producers, removing Obama’s practice of picking winners and losers and ending the Obama war on coal and natural gas production

Also several graphs at the link above.

The scope ov executive orders is already limited. They only affect Federal employees, and if they are unlawful, they can be blocked by litigation.

That's also not true. Obama has essentially stopped deepwater drilling permits in the Gulf and litigation hasn't blocked a damn thing.

“Drug Smugglers Tunnel Into Arizona Parking Spaces”

Nice try. No fence means the illegals who don’t know how to do tunnels just walk right in. Fact is they have it much easier without a Border fence.

Simplistic it is not. 999 is not only child like in its simplicity but it borders on a game-like gimmick. Perry's energy jobs plan is down to earth cuts the red tape, creates the jobs and gets this country back to where it was I am all for that.

Who the heck knows what 999 will do? Yes, our tax system is screwed up but to create empowerment zones and a NEW national sales tax seems a bit red tape"ish" to me. Definitely not a conservative value.

“Perry’s simplistic babble is nailing his coffin shut.”

So you don’t like Cain, don’t like Perry — whom do you like, Ron Paul or Obama?

Someone should let the Governor know that we are doing this already. What exactly is his point here? Is he piggybacking on things that are already being done to pad his proposal?

His point is that we will "tap the full potential of the Marcellus Shale," which is not being done today, by restraining the EPA's ability to interfere and we will then tap "the deeper Utica shale."

A lot of these jackasses on here want a STRONG president (ala Palin/Cain/Bachmann) with so-called "tea party principles" ------ but they brutalize Perry for promising to use executive orders (strength)...

The double standards I see daily on here are sickening. The problem for Perry is he got into the race when they were all anticipating Palin. This allowed them to fuel their hatred for Perry until their heads were on fire.

The hate has not gone away and will not.

Why not just eliminate congress? Checks and balances are for sissies.

Can he do that by executive order?

“No fence means the illegals who don’t know how to do tunnels just walk right in. Fact is they have it much easier without a Border fence.”

They can also cut the fence or climb over it.

Which part of “boots on the ground” and surveillance don’t you get — that is what Perry wants and that is the onlything that actually works to stop illegal border crossing.
