Voter ID was passed in Texas (under Perry). It is NOT window dressing. It prevents un-eligible people from voting.

If you think it is window dressing, I don’t know ....

I have never used those terms about Cain.

I have said nothing approaching the ugliness about Perry by Cain supporters.

Most Perry supporters have not done so either.

I like Cain. I have doubts about Cain. Okay?

I like Perry. I know Perry. I have no doubts about him.

That’s all I’m saying, but if you weren’t so blinded by prejudice you would admit that Cain people have gone a little crazy. (and mean)

“With a series of executive orders and other executive actions... “ “It can be done without being mired in Washington gridlock, because a president has all the authority he needs to rollback intrusive regulations, create energy jobs, and make our nation more secure.”

And this man calls himself a conservative?! No thanks, we’ve had enough of a dictatorial presidency with Barack Obama.

Thank you for raising the level of discourse on this subject. It is badly needed.

Those screaming “Ack! Perry is against a fence!” are misinformed. If they care to know the truth, they will consider the information posted. If they don’t, they will continue to repeat misinformation and reveal themselves as ignorant or having an agenda.

There’s the line in the sand, people. Get informed or show yourselves.

I was asking the question, because I wanted to know. I asked it last week, but no one had an answer.

In the meantime, you made the point about what PA is doing in relation to Perry's speech. So, I figured you could answer it.

BTW, he poked his nose in to say he would ease the burden of the EPA restrictions, and it would be up to each state to decide whether to take advantage of it.

So if the PA pols or any other states decide to fold to the "green peace types," then that is there perogative. It looks like TX doesn't fold.

Let’s get serious: If you want jobs for Americans (as opposed to, say, illegal parasites) here are few simple suggestions to Jose Perry: - mandate e-verify - build the border fence (lets start with 150 miles initially in key areas - these are shovel ready jobs) - send the illegals home and stop the taxpayer incentives to illegals

E-verify is stupid, it is not my job as a business owner to secure the border. The last thing I need is more government in my business because I can never get them out. Added to that it will cause identity theft to increase, not decrease.

You CAN'T FENCE THE RIO GRANDE. By doing so you surrender US Territorial waters to Mexico. We have Ranchers farmers and thousands of other Texans (Americans) that depend on those waters to make a living. If you're solution is strategic fencing, then you actually agree with Perry who not only wants to fence those areas, he wants to man them with the National Guard (with the orders to return fire) and more Boarder Patrol Officers and more modern surveillance and detection. No one else running has a border plan other than to criticize the only guy in the fight that understands the fight. It was Obama that turned off the electronic frontier and stopped the fencing, not Perry.

Tax Payer incentives, Texas has no income tax, our schools are supported by sales taxes and property taxes that the illegals, that we aren't allowed to kick out, have no choice but to pay. Kids outside of Texas are not put at a disadvantage because we allow illegals in-state tuition, they are put at a disadvantage because they are not Texas Residence, just like Texas kids are at a disadvantage in the other 49 (or 56?) States.

Besides, the only "illegals" this will help are kids who can get their status changed to ether permanent resident or get their citizenship. Those are kids who enter the country legally and have visa issues and are waiting for the USCIS to get to them that in 2001 took 3-5 years, after 9/11, 10 if they are lucky.

The typical illegal that enter Texas illegally can not benefit from this program because they cannot get their status changed unless they leave the country and come back in legally. Who is running right now that says they are going to kick all the illegals from Mexico out? Are there illegal enters taking advantage of this program? Yes, but it does them no good because they will never be able to use those degrees. But, that isn't Texas' fault it is the US Government's job to keep them out and the only ones trying to do it is Rick Perry and Jan Brewer.

Give up on the kick them out, the American people have made it clear they do not have the will to do it. I hate it, you hate it, we all hate it, but if the will was there it would have been done already. The US Government has not cared about the US Mexican Border since Patton was down there fighting Pancho Villa. The Rats think they can give them amnesty and turn them into voters, and the Republicans are too afraid that the Rats will win and are afraid to make them angry. That is the reality we live in. Hopefully someone like Perry, who understands what is happening on our border will shine light on it and Americans will change their mind. Also when Perry is talking about "boots on the ground" everyone in Texas and Arizona know what he is talking about, he intends to restore order in Mexico. If you understand the border war we are fighting you will know that it is the only way to win the war. There is a real possibility that by restoring order to Mexico, a good portion of the illegals will leave and return to their homes.

Understand, nobody is swimming across the Rio Grande or crossing the AZ Desert to get a $151 discount at our Jr. Colleges, they are running for their lives and until we address that reality we will never secure the border.

I support Cain, but I do not hate Perry. I just think he is completely unelectable. During one of the debates, he could hardly string together a coherent attack on Romney's flip-flops -- something that should have been easy to do. Also, this video shows how he cannot communicate conservative issues in a cogent manner. If he gets the Republican nomination, Team Obama will paint him as an even worse version of Bush Part Deux.

Sunoco also has a refinery that I just looked up that they are idling. EPA has some significant part in it, but oil prices and overseas competition is the other part.

You are right about the states taking advantage of getting the Feds out of the way. My issue is that if voters don’t elect local sensible people like they did recently in PA to oversee and support new energy exploration, there is nothing a President can do about it. FL and CA come to mind. Corbett has been fairly good at giving safety concerns a look while not stopping progress on the drilling. NY is another matter. They are going out of their way to cripple the industry before it even has a chance to succeed based on safety fears that are at this point unfounded.

Sure, we might as well just let Obama’s EOs stand. Is that your point?

Are the latest Attack-Perry memo talking points about how “dictatorial” it is for Perry to use EOs, that ALL presidents have used before him, and which are part of the power allocated to the Executive Branch?

“Right now, as much as I hate to admit it, the most viable conservative is Cain.”

I don’t understand how Cain is more conservative than Perry.

His 999 plan would make middle America and Low Wage Americans pay more in taxes plus including food while the wealthy would be paying considerably less. In addition, it would take an act of Congress to do it.

Why or how is that conservative?

And, his immigration stance is exactly the same as Perry’s.

Ok, I agree that is conservative but no more than Perry.

He endorsed Romney in 2008 and has hinted that he would support a VP position in a Romney Presidency.

How is that Conservative?

He is against auditing the Fed Reserve, later changing that but said it was not a priority and thinks Greenspan was the best?

Perry has been very outspoken against the Fed Reserve and Bernanke. Took heat for too.

How is Cain more conservative with that position?

Cain said if Perry was the GOP nominee, he would not support him.

Who is he going to vote for? Obama?

Cain endorsed Tarp and he said nationalizing banks
“is not a bad thing” and “no valid criticism had been
brought forward of the extraordinary intervention in the economy.”

How is that conservative?

Regardless of the lies all over the internet, Perry was against Tarp. I have the letter (not the one his opponents point to but the actual one where he laid it clearly).
And in his interview with George S. this morning he was VERY CLEAR there would be NO BAILOUTS under a President Perry. Asked even if they were too big to fail - he said even if they were too big. No Europe bailout, no Greece and no GE bailout.

I believe Cain’s 999 plan would kill the economy because people will simply stop spending money on things they do not need.

And lastly:

No one brings up that Cain was named in the lawsuit regarding Aquila Board of Directors. And this has been omitted in his bio on website.

There were 5 lawsuits in 2004 against Aquila Board of Directors in which Cain and other Company Officials were listed. The suits mingled into one class action lawsuit
and settled in 2005 for 10.5 million

The Violation: federal law requiring that employers manage employees retirement programs responsibly had been violated.

Strawman. Executive orders are instructions to the executive branch, pursuant to the constitutional powers of the president as head of the executive branch.

Perry knows that Obama has unleashed the hounds of Government regulation.

Perry’s executive orders will be to get those bureaucrats back in the box.

Bully for him.

Really, exactly how alert would you be at a stupid debate that barely had any meaning if you were responsible for a State that had a portion the size of most other states on fire? On top of trying to deal with that, that very day Obama was afraid that it would be used against him in the debate so he sent the US Forrest service to "take charge" who go there and did what the Fed always does and got in the way. They sent fire fighter away because they didn't have the proper federal permits. And your complaint is that he couldn't perform well in that debate? Oh well, he did great handling the fires and saving lives and homes, and ranches and farms and businesses and schools, etc, etc, etc. That was a great day for the Governor, he lead a state while the rest of them lead in polls.

You are putting too much importance on the debates. Being a good debater does not qualify someone to be President because a President does not enact polices in 30 seconds sound bites and does not negotiate with Congress in 3 seconds zingers

I think you're downplaying the importance of the debates, most likely because your chosen candidate has performed so badly in them.

The fact is, the debates give the voters a chance to see the candidates up close and personal, and see how they comport themselves in a highly charged, real-time environment.

Impressions of the various personalities are formed in the voters' minds, for better or for worse. For what it's worth, I don't think any of the candidates have created a sterling impression in the voters' minds, so far in these debates. There have been winners and losers I guess, but it seems that they're all vying for the bronze medal, in my opinion. None have risen to take the gold.

That said, Rick Perry's current polling numbers reflect the impression he's made in people's minds during these debates. It's just a fact that people are going to judge you on how you come across in person, and in a presidential race, those intangibles will decide a candidate's eventual fate.

Agreed. If a candidate wilts under the pressure of a debate, is confused or unable to respond effectively, how is he or she likely to perform as commander in chief?

Minimizing the importance of the debates is a big mistake.

You know, I would make mention of Cain’s laughable Great Wall of China he wants to build with an electric top and an alligator moat, but why go there. :) I think the empowerment zones (we should just call them entitlement zones) included in his 999 plan along with his being ‘ABC’ (American First Black Second and Conservative Third) says it all for me.

Governors are the ones who actually had experience in running a state —

Yup, Wilson, FDR, Carter, Clinton, Bush, how did that making governors president work out for us? Except for Reagan, who unlike Perry, had a huge amount of experience outside of being governor, governors have not made good presidents and you would certainly not use the experience of being a governor as a qualification for being a good president.

So if some places there is a river, then fence cannot be built anywhere? Nice try, amigo.

We can start building fence in several areas (let’s say 100-150 miles immediately).

In areas where border is in the middle of Rio Grande, we can still set up separate fence in the border area, with few openings to the river.

Nobody claimed fence will prevent 100% of illegal entries, but it makes it much more difficult, and the few border guards can manage the situation easier. This is just like banks constructing secure areas.

Private businesses are not allowed to hire anybody without tax ID anyway (and in many businesses, they need to check applicant is not child predator etc). It is no different to run e-verify. It is simple.

Pro-illegal anti-us lunatics always try to use these excuses, then have some vague comments how they are tough on border security. Even Napolitano sounds anti-illegal in her statements.

Pro-illegal stance disqualifies Jose Perry from running for White House. Period. Mexican presidency is another issue.

Besides, it would help to have a president with IQ higher than fruit fly.
