Gov. Perry Unveils Jobs Plan (FULL TRANSCRIPT)
Cypress Times ^ | Oct 14, 2011 | Rick Perry

Pittsburgh: Gov. Rick Perry's Full Remarks on Energizing American Jobs

The central issue facing Americans is a lack of jobs.

The plan I present this morning, Energizing American Jobs and Security, will kick-start economic growth and create 1.2 million jobs.

It can be implemented quicker and free of Washington gridlock because it doesn't require congressional action. Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions, we will begin the process of creating jobs soon after the inauguration of a new president.

The quickest way to give our economy a shot in the arm is to deploy American ingenuity to tap American energy. But we can only do that if environmental bureaucrats are told to stand down.

If Cain had some serious executive experience (running a company is an entirely different type of executive experience than public executive experience — a company exec IS a dictator, for example, plus Cain actually was the president of a subsidiary and so reported to the parent company), and his record in that position matched his rhetoric, I’d be thrilled about him.

I like Cain except for his 9-9-9 plan, and I don’t consider that disqualifying.

The problem I see with Cain is that despite being able to get lots of people to say they support him now, he will be unelectable. We just went through 4 years of an inexperienced president, and I can’t see the general population voting for a guy who has never done ANYTHING in the public sector.

I know that there are a small base of supporters who support him BECAUSE he is entirely inexperienced, but I just don’t see him making it all the way.

What I do see is the media totally ignoring the issue. Which suggests they are helping Obama by keeping quiet about the biggest issues Cain has, in the hopes Cain CAN win our nomination. Then they will start asking “why did the republicans pick a neophyte who has no executive experience, no foreign policy experience, has never even run a dog-catcher department, and think he could run the presidency?

They will point out that we have never in our history elected anybody who had neither held public office, or been a general in the military. They will ask what makes him qualified to be the commander in chief. They will point out the small size of his executive group in his previous jobs, and ask how running an office of a few hundred people could qualify him to run an executive branch with millions of people.

That’s if he makes it to the nomination. Long before that the Romney people will start pointing out the same things, casting doubt. Not of course until all their REAL threats have been eliminated.

If I was sure Cain would win the Presidency, I’d be in his camp already. As it is, I’m still trying to decide who to support. Cain, Gingrich, Perry.... I think I’ve given up on Santorum and Bachmann at this point.

Anyone with more than two gray cells to rub together knows that Palin was our only hope.

None of these hangers-on have much chance. Cain is the strongest of what remains.

Guess some “posters” don’t like actual conservative, pro-growth policies in print. The trolls are out in full force today, attempting to change the subject on this. Boy, this policy platform must be REALLY, R-E-A-L-L-Y good! LOL

Thanks for the link. I’m going to spend some time studying what has been released.

Much appreciation for your post.

But remember, Perry shouldn’t have created jobs in Texas, because by creating jobs, he gave incentives for illegals to be in Texas since they could get jobs there.

Perry was supposed to run his economy into the ground and destroy the jobs in his state, in order to chase away the illegals.

Not true.

It began as a subsidiary, but was spun off.

His experience actually covers six different companies, plus employment as a scientist, and mathematician.

Which part of “boots on the ground” and surveillance don’t you get

What part of you need fewer boots on the ground and less surveillance with an effective fence don't you get? Ask the Israelis. Do you think there is no surveillance of their fences or that there are no boots on the ground? Of course there are and they are necessary, but it would be much harder and more expensive without the fence.

“The plan I present this morning, Energizing American Jobs and Security, will kick-start economic growth and create 1.2 million jobs. “

Perry is more than 20,000,000 jobs short but at least he has put a GOP plan on the table. This is a plus over Cain. Cain thinks taxes are the country’s biggest problem but jobs are. But 1.2 million is a drop in a bucket and the GOP has to do better for the country.

Since you are so knowledgeable of PA, can you please tell me why I read an article last week that they are closing refineries there?

Good grief. What a fantasy world you live in. Perry even rejected E-Verify and SB1070 and the Secure Fence Act. He’s spent time on Border COntrol alright, screwing it up 9 ways to sunday.

DO you support putting a fence along the beach for the first 30 miles of the Gulf coast of Texas? After all, without a fence there, it is easier for the mexicans to come across, they just swim a hundred yards around the edge of the fence, or get some cheap flotation devices and paddle across.

Yet all the ‘we need a fence’ people never argue that a fence should be built along the beaches. Why not? Is it beause they actually understand the concept of “strategic fencing” and just want to make a political argument?

You haven't posted one intelligent post this entire thread. Not ONE. Just smartass remarks with no substance.

Agree with him or not, read the well thought out posts of CharlesWayneCT and others and compare them to the drivel you've posted.
