A New Jersey high school teacher became the center of a Facebook controversy on Thursday after writing on the site that “homosexuality is a perverted spirit that has existed from the beginning of creation” and complaining about a school display recognizing October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History month.
The teacher, Viki Knox, posted a photo of a display from the school, Union High School in Union Township, on her personal Facebook page last week. It included photos of Virginia Woolf, Harvey Milk and Neil Patrick Harris. When a friend asked if the school had really put it up, Ms. Knox wrote that it had, and “I’m pitching a fit!”
In subsequent posts, Ms. Knox, who teaches special education classes, defended her views in lengthy exchanges with other Facebook users, referring at times to God and her Christian beliefs. A copy of the comments was provided to The New York Times; her Facebook page was removed from public view. News of Ms. Knox’s comments was first reported on Thursday morning by The Star-Ledger in Newark.
“The district is taking the matter very seriously,” said Union’s superintendent of schools, Patrick Martin. “We are running a thorough investigation. We will take all appropriate actions.”
Dr. Martin declined to comment further on the investigation, or Ms. Knox’s background, citing laws that protect the privacy of public employees.
The state’s teacher database showed that Ms. Knox had 12 years of experience in the district and that she earned $72,109 in 2010. Some residents and parents said that she also advised a student prayer group, and that, until now, she had not been involved in any controversies.
Ms. Knox did not respond to messages left at the school.

In the Old America, one had a right to air his views, regardless of whether others thought them repugnant.
The free marketplace of ideas, and commerce, would accept or reject such.
In the New American Collective, ideas are not subject to market forces, but rather to preconceived political correctness filters imposed by government and business.
Of course, the OWS communists can promote hatred of Jews, anti-white and anti-mail discrimination, and class hatred (”Kill the Rich”), but they are given a pass by the political correctness filters.
What constitutes an “anti-gay” entry?

That’s first on their “normalize” list.
That will allow teachers to have free sexual access to the students. This is what they really want.
The normalization of polygamy will really be the normalization of polyamory, where three or more individuals of various sexual proclivities can obtain the benefits of “marriage”.
Bestiality will certainly be normalized, as well, since, after all, it should be no real problem if a man wants to enjoy his sheep or a woman her horse.
I pray that this country will turn back from this precipice. There will be no saving it from destruction otherwise.

The promoters of tolerance, diversity and anti-discrimination see nothing wrong with stomping out ideas, beliefs and people they don’t agree with and discriminating against anyone who doesn’t toe their “progressive” line.
Political correctness - designed to prevent people from speaking out against the left wing voting blocks and their agenda. Christians aren't a left wing voting block.
This has nothing to do with "tolerance." It has everything to do with control.
If some choose to be homo, why can't some chose the opposite? Since when do politicians decide what a free citizen has to believe? Where is the tolerance for normalcy?

On the onther hand, I am sure she could get a job here in our school district, and I’m not talking about Houston ISD...There are a few around here that are much better to the teachers AND more important the students...
She is right, there are many who think that the eating of the fruit in the garden of Eden was a homosexuals act performed on Adam by Lucifer.
And when you consider the way God speaks about male on male homosexuality in His book, the Bible, that thinking starts to make a lot of sense. In the Old Testament, He calls for their death, in the New Testament, He uses it as a punishment against radical evolutionist.
But I guess that telling the truth by a teacher is a crime in the eyes of the nyslimes.

Not bad for working an average of 6 months a year. If teachers worked all year like everyone else, this teacher would be making $144,218 !!!!
No one should be on Facebook. It mixes the personal (including religious and political) too much with one’s professional life.
Now Facebook is working to kill ANY Internet anonymity, by making people have to sign in on Internet forums with Facebook (i.e., their REAL NAMES)!!!!
Note that FR allows one to use screen-names. Without such anonymity, neither I nor many others would ever post anything here. My real name is all over the Internet because of professional activities, and I would not like a potential customer or colleague to also see my posts on FR under my real name.
I know that Facebook is SO successful “one-ninth of the world uses it”, “an example of American entrepreneurship”, blah, blah, blah. But I would like to see Facebook and Zuckerman taken down by some scandal, so that Facebook would have to go out of business!!!!
Facebook is EVIL, grasping, and imperialistic. Google is not much better, in many ways, but it is a necessary evil. Facebook is just evil, and not necessary.
Meanwhile, her fellow teachers preside over clsssrooms where nobody can read, write, or cipher. But that’s OK, just as long as they adhere rigidly to the PC opinions of the day.
This is news? The Newspaper of Record runs this?

I don’t post a whole lot on FaceBook and I certainly don’t post anything remotely political. I don’t want to alienate half of my “friends” because I’m just there to pick up hot divorced former classmates!
